Default New silverchair..

Is poo.

Sounds weak to me, nothing new really, I suppose just not what i'd hoped for. Dan's voice is really girly, lol.

Anyone else heard it? You can stream it now off their site - http://www.chairpage.com/

I had it earlier, but thought i'd wait till it was released.

So far 2dayfm have played it 4 times today, definitly is nothing like there early stuff (Frogstomp/Freak show) but i think there are heading towards a more mature sound like Diarama. I think they need to go back to their roots.

I am sure that they will do well from this album, yeah, its different, but whats the point of releasing the 'same old tunes' time and time again, it gets old VERY quickly.
Straightline isnt a song for radio in my opinion, it lacks alot.

I also think Dan has lost the plot.. but my god, his wife is HOT!!!!

IMO though this is nothing new either. It's exactly what I was expecting (though not what I wanted).. Too much influence from dan's side project's and softer sides of the chairs later releases.

If they'd actually done something different, or gone back to their roots (or at least let it influence the sound) then I would have been a lot more suprised.

Then again, this is only one song, so we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

They gotta get back to the more aggressive vocals. And some guitar work!

People change....
People make music....
Music changes....

Is there anything wrong with that???

Congratulations to Silverchair for sticking around for so many years, listen to their music, follow their journey. You cant expect them to make the same music they did when they were 16.

I'm no 'diehard' Silverchair fan..... I think "Straight lines" is a great song, but so are "Tommorow", "Israels Son", "Pure Massacre", "Freak" etc......

Looking forward to hearing more of their new direction.

All credit to Daniel Johns for getting out of bed in the morning.

Mike
