You didnt specify genders of the children, useless! So take your pick from the list below:
- take the kids to the park on a nice day and kick the footy around or play on the playground - make a picnic of it - go to a nice warm indoor swimming centre - the kids LOVE that - take everyone ice skating - its fun even if you cant skate, just laughing at everyong else who cant skate - take everyone to a day at the footy! You are in the right state for it! - go for a cruise for the day to some nice destination and do the picnic thing, then come back - zoo is always good but can be expensive these days - take the family up to Heathcote this weekend!!!! Just a few ideas!

I've got a few ideas... I've got three kids aged 13, 12 and 9 and it's hard to take them anywhere - even buying lunch at Subway can cost $40.
We like markets. Windsor has markets on a Sunday and it's really nice to shop around and eat some nice food and sit by the river. Or there's good ol' Parklea or Paddy's, scummy but you can pick up some decent bits and pieces sometimes. Parks, iceskating, swimming, museums, zoo as already mentioned. Movies are expensive with the whole family, but going to an early session on a Tuesday night is a good idea cos it's cheaper. A weekend drive up to the Mountains is extremely popular with many, many Sydneyites as we've got the best views, great shops, good food and a fair few things to see and do. Also whenever we go down to Sydney we tend to stop at Parramatta, park on a side street, then jump on the Rivercat for a nice cruise along the river and up the harbour into Sydney rather than driving. Parking in Sydney can cost you more than the Rivercat and they run every half hour to and from. Luna Park is free to go looksie at - it's the rides that cost. Beaches are great in the spring and summer months, and cheap if you pack a picnic. Oh try bowling too, my kids really enjoy that. OH! There's a park on the outskirts of Parramatta which is huge and fantastic for kids of all ages (easy stuff for the littlies, harder stuff for the older kids). Huge picnic area and a miniature road for pushbikes and skateboards/rollerblades. It is all signposted to teach kids about road rules etc. I think it's on the corner of Burnett St and Merrylands Rd, Merrylands (it's called Merrylands Park *I think*). Some of the museums in Sydney are designed for kids specifically, like the Powerhouse. In the school holidays they have stuff at museums and it's really interesting to go looksie at what they have. Sometimes they have stuff they bring over from other countries and you learn about the history involved. And there's a website you might like to look at: http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/ that's always got interesting stuff to see and do. Hope that's helpful.

What about Sega world at Darling Harbour? Let the kids go nuts and you and the wife can roam around Darling Harbour, go shopping, go to IMAX etc.
Olympic Park looks like fun too, i was there for a work conference, some of the guys did the stadium tour and said it was an amazing experience, particularly running out onto the field (which youre not supposed to do but they never try and stop you lol).
