Can anyone recommend a decent and reasonably priced courier company ?
I need to ship some car parts interstate and I really haven't had a lot of experience with courier-ing things. A company that does offer a tracking service would be appreciated.

Toll gets used a lot at Optus/Cisco
It depends on the size of the items you are sending though. I work for Australian National Couriers (aka Fleets Flyers 13 20 88 as a part time driver ... but i have never actually booked anything through my company so I have no idea what they are like for interstate stuff. I just do the Sydney Metro driving around.

You might try Startrack Express. http://www.startrackexpress.com.au/
I've no idea as to their costs but your freight can be tracked right down the line. I work for a company that carries the stuff interstate and anytime the boss wants to see where we are he just punches the truck number into the Computer.... you can run but you cant hide ![]()

Not sure of specific depots because I think they operate through other companies depots. I know they service Melbourne to Brisbane and probably further.

Fast, Reliable - the only beef i have with them is they cost a bit. Looking back on it, they were well worth the money. I was only shipping computers and parts - so im guessing car parts are going to cost a bit more, best thing to do is get a rate card and check against how heavy/big the items are. |

If they going to another capital city, Fastway will probably be cheaper, my mate just had a set of alloy heads for a windsor, some roller rockers and a cam sent from mid north coast NSW to Perth with them, and it was only $90. but if not them, Startrack or TNT, they are the 3 i use

Ditto with TNT... use them lots, and not the cheapest, but have been ultra-reliable

Also, if you just wanna send stuff locally within the state, don't use the big guys, deal directly with the small business freight companies. The big ones just end up onforwarding the freight to them anyway in a lot of cases.
