Hi Guys
Caught up wiyh a mate that i have not seen for ages last night. Last saw hin in June this year when he had just ordered a xr6 turbo ute. I was looking forward to taking it for a spin last night but he still has not taken delivery. He has been told to expect delivery at end of Jan. To say he is pi**ed off is an understatement. This guy is a ford nut through and through but is seriously thinking of getting a SS ute. Is this type of wait normal. Cheers |

Mine took about 6 weeks. Remember it is Xmas and even Ford workers deserve a few days off
A holden will take just as long. If you want on right now just buy one that is sitting in stock somewhere. If you are lucky it will be the right colour with the options you want. Unfortunately most stock ones are povo. |

I don't think the issue is that workers shouldn't be allowed time off but that his friend has waited a good 5 months for delivery. This is how I read it anyway.
I'd be a little toey tbh, haven't had to wait that long before. |

The way i read it he`s just ordered it, this time of year the company`s are slowing down getting ready for xmas break and doing maintenance at the plant, holden used to shut down for a few weeks from memory, ford a bit less,
old mate should have put his order in earlier if he wanted it before xmas. |

If he had ordered it in June then that is bit too long of a wait....
When I ordered my Ute late December 2009 it was delivered following February, so I would expect 6 to 8 weeks to be reasonable time for Ute to be built & delivered. |

clearly says that it had already been ordered when they met in june and no delivery expected until the end of january. thats about 7 months. something wrong there i think. perhaps someone forgot to process the order.
it took 3 months to get my BA built in 2003. that was when there was a fairly high demand for new falcons and i had to join the quew. i was told a delivery date when i ordered and it actually came a week earlier. the factory is not as busy now so you would think there would be not much of a backlog.

Stop ruining the story. The AAFFFHT (Association of AFF Ford Hating Trolls) did not get a chance to spew their usual dribble yet.

sounds strange to me with ford needing to scale down production you would think the 2 month production cycle is the maximum waiting time for delivery. either the dealer stuffed up or your friend is having a lend of you

There's a few special editions that did not exist in June... Could be a true story as Ford has been focusing on LE, just like Holdens only been building Z packs.
Is his dealer small? |

I call ********, it's 8 weeks maximum. And that's only if you want a special order.

If he only paid the deposit in December then wouldn't that be when the order went in? So It really has been less than a month?

We picked up a new turbo ute in Qld about 2 weeks ago now.
Delivery time was about 6 weeks. I Got mine (ex demo) back in May. At the time there was no shortage I thought on showroom floors in various colours and both auto and manual available. The longest we waited was 9 weeks from memory for an LPi earlier this year but I think there was a component shortage. |

There are more than 30 new XRT utes for sale on carsales, 7 in Victoria.
Ordering is when you sign a contract and pay a deposit. Your friend did do that back in June didn't he? |
