I helped a mate do his EL head gasket the other day. I'd done it before and we did it in my driveway with my tools. Except he provided grunt labour, the easy stuff, provided the parts and plenty of beer etc. No problems.

Happy to help mates, though had a mate once who bought a house to do up and sell at a profit, for nothing but profit. He wanted all his "mates" to come around and help paint etc etc for free.... If it was for him to live in sure... (And this guy has lots of money)
Now he asked me, even though he hadnt spoken to me for maybe a 2 years + ! "hmm, well I'm busy." |

I'm guessing your not my age, but If my mates were broke and needed a hand then there would be no second thought.
If you are asking the question, then i guess he is not that close to you. surely a head gasket on a corolla cant take that long, can it??? |

Good on you mate!
I'm sure you'll reap the benefits of your generosity somewhere down the track. Life can throw us some challenges from time to time and it's in these situations that you'll be able to call in a few favours to get you through unscathed. Well done. Russ. |

You shouldn't have to think about it. A few drinks, some maccas, a great laugh, having heaps of fun, learn some things and helping a mate. What more could you want?? It's just helping a mate, that's being an Aussie! But in saying that if I ever need help whatever it is he is there for me. Same thing. A few drinks maccas laugh and a night/weekend.
