Just borrowed a workmate's Lexus hatchback sport hybrid.
I have driven the future. It's quiet. And so slow.

Well, it's a very well put together car. Lovely build quality, nice interior, lots of toys like a joystick GPS, keyless entry, strange foot handbrake.... The list goes on.
Handling was really good. It was an auto so the car didn't approach corners properly, but it was flat and stable, quite firm on the suspension (which I like) and decent feel in the steering, although not as good as my Falcon. It had quite a bit of road noise though, not helped by its super quiet motor. But when you could hear the engine it sounded like a sack of spanners. At the lights it was weird as the engine cuts out then hesitates and moves off as if the car is dragging an anchor. Painfully slow. The brakes are not as good as the GT's either but haul up ok I guess. And I must confess to only realising after I stopped that it had a sport mode. I didn't try it, maybe it would have been better if I did. Seats were comfy, but have very narrow backrests. The interior sure was purdy, with nice stitching and a great smell. It was a bit cramped with a tiny console and no room in the back. The back window was really small. Overall, I didn't like it much, apart from the handling and superb finish. I will stick to the GT I reckon.

My best mate is quite high in lexus land, he makes me look at every toy he brings home and apart from two its been hard to get really excited about them.
The LFA was awesome but i wasnt allowed to drive it and the ISF a had to begrudgingly admit i liked driving. |
