Default South Park's Chef

Well just recently Isaac Hayes who voiced Chef's character decided to leave the show due to a disagreement over Scientology being taken the pi$$ out of on the show. The same episode made fun of Tom Cruise "not coming out of the closest".

Now it seems that the South Park creators have made a special episode for Chef. Read below courtesy of the SMH.

Quote:
Chef gets true South Park send-off

Isaac Hayes' Chef character got a true South Park send-off - seemingly killed off but mourned as a jolly old guy whose brains were scrambled by the "Super Adventure Club".

The thinly disguised satire continued the show's feud with Scientologists in its 10th season premiere on US pay TV channel Comedy Central.

The soul singer has voiced the Chef character in South Park since 1997, but left recently because of what he called the animated show's religious "intolerance and bigotry".

Founders Matt Stone and Trey Parker said Hayes, a Scientologist, was mad that South Park mocked the religion in an episode last year.

A rerun of that Scientology episode was mysteriously pulled off the air in the US last week amid published reports that actor Tom Cruise, another Scientologist, had used his clout to bury it. A Cruise spokesman denied that.

Hayes did not participate in making the new episode; the character's lines appeared to be patched together through tapes of past dialogue.

Chef repeatedly said he wanted to "make sweet love" to the South Park primary school kids - it seems the "Super Adventure Club" turns its members into child molesters.

The children try to rescue Chef, but in the end he turns to head back to the "Super Adventure Club" - until he falls off a bridge onto rocks, is burned, stabbed and mauled by a mountain lion and bear.

Then he apparently dies.

"A lot of us don't agree with the choices the Chef has made in the last few days," one of the children eulogises him at a funeral. "Some of us feel hurt and confused that he seemed to turn his back on us. But we can't let the events of the past few weeks take away the memories of how Chef made us smile.

"We shouldn't be mad at Chef for leaving us," the eulogy concludes. "We should be mad at that fruity little club for scrambling his brains."

The door for Hayes's return was not completely closed. In the show's final scene, members of the "Super Adventure Club" try to revive Chef, and it is not clear he is really dead.

Funny though he didn't have a problem when they bagged out every other religion on the planet and just about every other person as well. I think that scientology realy has fried his brain just like tom. Have you herd the garbage that comes out of his mouth.

Exactly.

Like one of the first episodes had Jesus in a fight with Santa for who the 25th of decemeber belonged too. Guess Isaac didn't find that in poor taste.

I am an avid $cientology-watcher, (and not to mention, p!sstaker), and it is a great and fun hobby. Yep unsurprisingly, Isaac Hayes is a hypocrite of the highest order, which is exactly what you become when you are a celebrity $cientologist!

It's easy to see why Isaac Hayes acted like he did - a combination of pressure from L. Tom Hubbard .. err... Cruise, and the "doctrine" (brainwashing) of their cult, which effectively reduces all other religious systems and beliefs into "deliberately implanted wrongful information". Hence, he sees no reason to get upset when these other religions are ripped off on South Park.

It's great that this stuff is hitting the mainstream news, and showing the true colours of this ridiculous cult!

I did enjoy the final word and the credits for the scientology episode. Stan had told them all theat the religion was a lie and they all said they were going to sue him. He says go ahead, SUE ME!, then it cuts to the credits and everyone's name was John and Jane Smith.

On the Scientology route, there is an article in the states regarding a Scientology leader who was stabbed 77 odd times by her schitzophrenic son. They don't believe that mental health medicines are good and she was treating his problem with vitamins. Way to go!

Scientologists really are a stupid bunch of people. So it's ok to bag out every other religion, sing about his Chocolate Salty Balls but the moment you have a go at Scientology it's no go? I bet he was happy to cash all his cheques from Jew/Christian/Muslim/Hindu/whatever bagging.

You've gotta hand it to Hubbard though, he found the best way to take money of idiots. Who would seriously believe all that Xenu rubbish?

Screw the hypocrite. I'm glad they've killed him off that way. Now he can hide in the closet all he wants with that other idiot Tom Cruise at the "Super Adventure Club".

They set up a stall at a family / community fair in Perth recently advertising free 'stress tests' (I notice they werent doing 'personality tests' anymore...maybe because they would all fail those :evil_laug ). Anyway, the only signs they had were for the stress tests and good ol' l.rons dodgy book. There was nothing to say they were $cientologists. Maybe they did put up signs the night before, but the martians came and took them...

I don't really see the big deal with Chef being killed off, he has hardly been on the show at all in the last few seasons. He started off as one of the main characters and ended up as a very minor one.

I don't watch South Park a whole lot but I understood that they mock all religions equally, so don't see what the problem is? I'm sure they mock themselves (Americans) more than anyone else as well.
