So i'm thinking about putting an Led light bar on the Focus as the lights on these things don't impress me at all. I have heard some rumours of LW focus wiring to the head lights catching fire, I think I saw a post on hereabout it once. Did it have any relation to these light bars?

it should not be a problem if you wire through a relay to a wire from the battery

A properly wired light bar is going to use a relay so the short answer is no.
