Had a spend up at Rare Spares, bought lots of goodies for my XC.
Didn't have in stock the part I really needed, the rust rapair for the inner guard. Got onto The GT shop in Melbourne, it'll be in the post Monday. Happy days, beautiful weather next week too so can really crack on.

Reading jaydee's post, he seems to be overwhelmed with happiness about his new car panel parts, knowing that when it's all said an done, chasing rust that is, then we will see a post in the " Geez, I hate that " thread!

Knowing I fixed the tappet knock in Pat's Hyundai Accent, she dident drive it yesterday, and was busy with stuff, so went over last night, 2 units away, about 8pm and asked if I could start car whilst cold, opened door and just put key in, dident get in, it fired up and not a whisper from engine, it just purred like a kitten, she asked " is that running Billy " I said yep, problem solved!
That's all it was an oil change and filter, I explained how hydraulic tappets worked but she dident get it! That made me feel good, really good! Cheers Billy |

Finished reworking the ~4m of chases I mis-cut last week. My error, didn’t realise comms conduit is 20mm ID, not 20mm OD like electrical. Chiselled them into a deeper U shape and all is good again.

What a freaking mess, man oh man, that's a nightmare even for someone who knows their sh.t, I did rust for my mates all the time to pass NSW rego and that is a big project But, not impossible if your heart is in it, you have to have a vision in your mind of a finished product, to me it would be "a tiptoe through the tulips" if I owned it, and if it was 15 years ago, then I was still a capable person, I wish I could upload pics here but always fail. But just keep that "vision" in your mind of driving it around town, no rust and a new paint job and it will happen, don't let complacency into your head, if it ****s you take a day off and do something else, come back to it when you feel like it, and take your time, make any bits you need on cardboard and develop that first, do it 10 times until it's right, it's only time and cardboard, then use that as your template. As for welding, just a spot an inch apart, let it cool, then a spot in between the first ones and so on, heat is the enemy of light sheet steel, even grinding down needs care not to overheat it. But you will manage, just relax it will come together, you learn how to weld as you go. Now I will be able to see your progress knowing where to look! Cheers Billy |

Finally after 2 weeks of saying my new garage door is coming, it finally did.
The old creaking groaning tilt a door is no more, brand new super quiet sectional door to protect my XC and wife SP25.

Getting through last night, I honestly never thought I would get to sleep, had the last of my teeth pulled yesterday and brother it was a nightmare, 5 lower front all at once, every part of my face attached to my jaw was aching all night, I never knew my mouth could open so wide, and hold it like that for an hour or more, but I'm so happy I made it through it, I feel damn better now than 14 hours ago, yeh so that's made me feel better, but at 9:30 am am off for cortisone injections in R shoulder, it can only get better eh

Yippee got ACROD disability permit in mailbox after I got home from cortisone injection, no more long walks, still have to pay to park where necessary but I can get a lot closer to hospital or shop entrance now.

Booked a hire car in Broome when we go up to see my daughter in 2 weeks.
Insurance is $40 a day, $280 through the hire company. Got onto RAC, insuring me for $78 to use a hire car for the week, big saving. Saving money always makes me feel good, unlike my Mrs who feels good spending it.

I had chicken and mushroom gnocchi for dinner with a side of garlic bread. It wasn't what made my day, but it still was pretty good.

Can't believe what one cortisone shot in R shoulder can do!
Usually in bed at 9 pm because of tiredness because of napping during daytime, but I forced myself to stay awake until 9:30 pm, the last thought I remember before going to sleep was " please let me get some rest tonight, I am just so tired " I was talking to my self of course, I awoke at 8:15 am, couldn't believe my good luck, ( bad luck is when you fall over backwards and break ya nose ) My shoulder has been aching 24/7 for months, but can't have cortisone every week, but geez am sitting here typing this blissfully unaware I even have a right shoulder......
