This is just too hard to accept, 2 very Unique legends have just left us all in a matter of a few days apart.
The families of these legends should feel very proud of there acheivements, as i am sure we all do.

I guess i can say i have been priviledged to watch Brocky race and win back in the early days of Bathurst : and as a few of you said before, he is and always will be the KING of Bathurst.
Sometimes life is not fair, the good ones seam to go first.

Another note how furken stupid are all these goons throwing stuff on ebay of Steve Irwin and now Brocky and asking rediculous prices for them! : pack'o'******* if you ask me!

So sorry to hear about this but they died doing what they were good at and what they enjoyed the most...

I think this years Bathurst should be called "Peter Brock 1000". If you were Super Cheap Auto wouldn't you feel as if you had to change it? Because they support Holden so much and Holden have just lost a great hero and idol....

Once again......

That's so true! I was lucky enough to see it; on tele only but it didn't matter. A great era to grow up in.
They were all very clean drivers and the battles were fantastic. Those older blokes all new the quickest way around a circuit was to not touch anything.

Bad Bad news, i found out at 3pm yesterday as a friend was at the targa and rung me. At this stage nobody knew, i thought it couldn't be true because there was no news about it. Maybe if he had been in his beloved HOLDEN he would have survived or not crashed at all. RIP Brocky you'll never be forgotten.

Although I had a run in with him in 1995 I still recognize that Peter did do fantastic things for the sport. He also did a fair bit of charity work to help kids and for that he should be respected. RIP Peter Brock.

Thats a bit of a stupid statement though, dont even know what tyres were on his car, and even if they were dunlops, how many people do you think have been killed on different brands of tyre? If you dont trust a brand that has had people die with them on their cars you'd best start making your own.

Couldnt of hit the nail any better on the head. It doesnt matter what brand they are. I sure there be a enquiry about it. It could be a mistake that brock made. Does this mean you not going to drive on any rubber at all cause every single company in the world would have fatality car accident on there rubber.

Sounds a bit pedantic considering he raced FORD's at one time. Holden marketing will miss him the most (and cashing in on his brand loyalty).

I met him at the 1982 Hang Ten 400 (predecessor of today's Sandown 500). My father painted some of his race cars at that time so he was able to get us into the old pits complex (which was between turns 1 and 2) where we met him. I still have the poster he signed for me on that day.

Seen him race at Amaroo, Oran Park and at Bathurst.
He was a great driver, I guess time and the odds just caught up with him.
He was doing what he loved, R.I.P Brockie.

i can see im going to get flammed for this
but....
Peter brock beat up his wife years ago and never ever ever praised the work of his co-drivers when racing the mountain.
There is more than one driver that wins bathurst
Im sorry but i dont have any respect for people that beat up women, every dog has thier day.
Im sorry for his family, but dont feel sorry that its happened
