Got my first car at 15, a 55 Dodge Kingsway. Wish I still had it, I believe they're as rare as hens teeth now
My best mates old man owned the wagon in the background and they also had a mint FJ in the garage. One of my other mates had a '57 Chev, he was 15 too. Now they were the good old days

I bought my car two weeks before I turned 17. Spent 2 and a half years of Maccas pay on it. Well worth it lol.
I'll probably have it until I'm in my mid twenties, my next big buy will be a house. I've had it almost 2 years now, and still just like to look at it like when I first got it

Very very first was an EL ex cab last year at 17 years of age...went to scrap a week later, didnt really pay for it so no loss. (no was not stolen either)
Then picked up the current subie for a song a few months before i turned 18. Legendary lil car but bits are starting to give up (its about that time in its life it seems haha lucky me..) Already lookin to pickup a newer car that is more finacially supportable at this age and wage. But then again 2 cars.. And i digress......

Got my first car at 17. It was a Datsun 180B and was a hand me down from mum.
Drove it around for a while. Did the usual stuff to it myself (wheels, stereo, interior, re-spray) then started Uni and realised that it wasn't as reliable and efficient as I liked. Sold it for $1500 at 19 and bought myself the Festiva new for my birthday. Used up all my savings in the process but it was well worth it. |

My first car was a HK Holden Kingswood bought 28 April 1976 (16yo) for $850 (how much is a 8 year holden or falcon now?) paid cash which I had saved up since I was 7.
My first Falcon was a pine lime XC Panelvan 4.1 4 speed bought new for $6600 in late 1977 (18yo). |

my first car was a 302 auto xd fairmont ice blue with 12 slotters .i picked it up the day before i turned 16 in 96, i paid it off over 5 months before ($1000).
Was a great car until 6 or so months later i was jacking it up at the front jacking points and the guard started to push through the sil. I pulled the front guards off to see rust had gone right through the front of both sills and was not repairable. Found out a few years later the car was swamped at keppel sands beach before i bought it. But it didn't turn me off them have had about 15 xd and xes' and a rust phobia too lol. |

15 when I bought my xr6.
Saved up everything since I had started working to buy it, have it registered and insured. All I had to do was wait 3 months before I could get my L's. Can't believe I have had it 2.5 years

17yrs old when I bought a 1973 Holden HQ Premier. The car was 5yrs old and cost me $3, 400. Traded it in 1979 for a 1976 XC GS 302 Panel Van, pine-lime, barn doors and cost me about $6,000. Fantastic car that one

Got given mums hand me down British racing green 2L 4spd TC Cortina at 15. It was lowered a couple of inches and had a nice free flowing exhaust. Geez it went hard; had it wound off the clock with the needle pointing straight down one day, loved that car. First car I paid for with my own money was a HQ p/van, 202 3 on the tree. I paid about $1300 for it back in 81, it was a great party bus that I drove into the ground and parted it out in the end.

Being in Kalgoorlie back then at 15 was no problem driving around. Just had to be a good boy going from point A to B and the local cops would leave you alone (Hell they knew where every kid lived back then) That was my first and only Holden.... But it had a chevy motor so it was ok
