F just means final of the GT-F. Not final of all GT.

I see your point but adding a "F" for Final is kinda lame imo

Of course 'GT' means alot to some ...... more so than others apparently but I wanted a GT for years, waited for the right GT and now have a GT. There are also clubs I can join because I have a GT, can drive with other GT's and talk GT's with other GT owners. I like my GT and 1 reason is because it is a GT, has a gadge to prove it and does everything for me that a GT should.
Nothing wrong with that? ...... and nope. Haven't got it in writing that there will not be an FH GT but have been convincingly told. As said above ...... imagine the egg on face if another one came out? Would it be the FH GT FF? If they want to move stock at the end, could imagine a 300 Cobra run? But would be amazed if they did. FH will come, will sell well quickly and most unfortunately, after a short marketing exercise will pitter away with marketing then being directed to Mustangs and the Falcon replacement, the second the original numbers are sold. I too would like to see the name 'Falcon' on the bum of the GT-F, the XT dropped from the bum of the FH 'Falcon' and 'Falcon' also on the bum of the XR models.

Will ford just let the last falcon FH just fade away and/or be in the shadow of the FG FPV GT-F? IMHO they will not and that's why they have been illusive (as many have said) in the fact of saying "IT IS THE LAST GT" who knows it may be an XR-GT, XR-F or even perhaps Fairmont GT.

Not that I'm any Pro in saying this but I know a couple of the boys well enough at our local Ford here and from what they tell me, they don't want to bring out any more GT'S or even more powerful XR8'S or GT'S there of, for the simple reason that drive-trains won't with stand the power which will ultimately lead to more warranty claims. They were pretty accurate about the XR8'S. A few weeks later, sure enough it's posted in the car mags as now being released to the public. It does make sense to me that there won't be anymore GT'S but I don't believe anyone knows for sure.

If there was a special run at the end of FH - you would probably need ESP to know what to call the last Falcon V8.

I would be hugely surprised if there were any more GT's built after these ones.

while I admire your compassion and I would love to see a FH GT there wont be.
http://www.fpv.com.au/content/ford-c...-edition-model there will never be another GT sedan after this, hence F does mean final in this case |

Really I thought it was the rear bar that we should not expect to be new?
I'd honestly be surprised if they weren't the GT-P seats for this final premium car.

Considering the press release contradicts what your "inside info" says I'd say your buddy is wrong
Quoting from the press release. "The team has developed a ‘stealth’ stripe design package that is evocative of the blacked-out highlights from Ford muscle cars of the 70s complimented by distinctive GT F badging." "A high series audio and centre console, usually a premium offering of the GT E, has been included as has a new gear knob cover and dash spear while a GT F-branded build number complete the interior changes."

^^^^^ It would be good if they could somehow incorporate the XY side stripes but given the shape of the FG it might be a variation of the XW stripes.
On the subject of Octane I saw a GT in this colour with black stripes the other night; was really clean and looked great under the streetlighting. Wasn't a fan before but am converted after that! Sounded good too and looks like the guy takes pretty good care of it.

I reckon XW side stripes, XY bonnet stripes
Although the problem then is if there are bonnet stripes I think I would prefer black and gold.

I'd like to have seen the 494 kW / 855Nm supercharged 5.8 from the GT500 to make it a real 351. Well it would be a 354, but then the original 351 was really a 352 so what the heck.

But leaving aside the badge matter, as whether they put a FPV or Ford badge on it makes no difference to some, myself included, there's nothing to stop Ford releasing a more technically complete FH vehicle, either in turbo six or SC V8 form or is there ?, what am I missing here...I suspect I'm missing nothing and the price point in N.Z. at circa late $90K's is simply too high for a technology package that's really very dated. My hope is they'll release a more up to date FH Falcon with a modernised version of the F6 turbo engine and some more tech at a better price. I think there's a reasonable prospect of this happenning. I speculate that people thinking they've missed the boat here, (or for those that this release doesn't sit favourably with their replacement cycle timing), needn't be that concerned...there's almost always something better down the track even if it does come with a different badge. |

If Ford had the budget to build a modern day style HO, then this motor could have been considered. But when you look at how easy the Miami engine produces power, then a high performance version of the Miami engine will be more than enough whether its 302 or 352/354 cubic inch.

Not to mention the headline saying they are sold out, then in the article it says you can still get autos...

It's been design protected for DI, so it may show up one day.
