Setup, testing & driver style etc is as involved as it gets. Good fun once you get into it. Just check the "engineer's advice" and read up on what things do. The BATracer forum has all the answers you'll need.

Thats another Championship deleted... That happens if they don't get enuf drivers.
Try this one. Only 20 cars required. Might be easier to fill.
www.grandprixmagazine.com has created a Aussie V8's Championship and we need at least 20 drivers minimum to help fill the grid.

In my first V8 Champ, I came 5th, with Team BOC, and only myself, as my team mate nicked off.
I am currently leading a champ car series by 20 points too.

Yeah my oath! I am hooked. Purchased Kool Tools a few months back.
Won my first Public Champcar Title last week. That was a good win!
Most of my V8 games I have going, I am in the top 5, if not leading, so I am going well.
I came 2nd in my first A1 Champ, but haven't been back since.
Tried F1... Didn't like it too much, so stuck it out with Champ Cars.
Anyone had any dramas with disappearing team mates?
I found the best characteristic to select is "Thinker". It helps a lot with setups, which is the most important thing IMO.

How many drivers, is there required for the V8 Supercars championship?

My secrets to a good driving style.... Set the speed/pace right up to 100, and lower the agression to 50. Agression doesn't do you any favours, only end up colliding with people during overtaking. With the high speed, you blast past them.
Keep the mech sympathy down at 50, and the tyres up to 75.
Leave the pitstop speed alone, as if you have a bad stop, it can ruin your whole race.
Same goes with the starts... A bad start can send you back to the rear.
It has worked for me so far!

31 usually. Private games I think the minimum is 20. A full grid is essential for a competitive championship. It also allows for the odd no-shows.
We had some clown start a private champ car game... Only had 17 runners! There should have been 24. Anyway there are now 2x One car Teams, which makes it bloody hard for those players.
As soon as you have enough drivers, you will receive a confirmation email stating the championship has started, and you have 12 hours to prepare for Qually.
In one of my games, we have been waiting for a few days now, but we will be guaranteed a decent field, without anyone leaving mid season.

Ranked at about 1100th (was as low as 9XX)

I run F1 2006 and V8 Supercars.

I liked the game, but found it hard to get onto a computer every day just so that you can stay competitive.
As for first win, i think a had one in my first set of games (played three at the one time)

I signed up. Team BOC. I am working it out but wrecked my car in qualifying. i think its quite addictive.

I just joined up looks great so far, qualifying is late tonight so im looking forward to it.

Anyone got some set-up tips for adelaide as im about 2 seconds off the pace of my more experience rivals.

How do you really work with your team mate, just talk about se-up in the team chat area?

The Engineers advice is Very basic and bloody hard to read.

You have a team mate chat area... Team Talk area. Type your settings up and hopefully your team mate will share too. From there you will get the best setup.

Im loving this game, very realistic but hard especially when you can't practice much at all, im looking forward to qualifying later on tonight although im not really sure what is infront of me...

No the track doesn't change, just the settings. They always change from track to track, so nothing is the same. Each time you start a new track, its all different. I use the strategy below to start off with, with the engineers help of course.

The Settings that work best..... If you have Kool Tools, at least you can save a starting point for another race....... I am seriously thinking of getting Kool Tools JUST so that i dont have to spend 80% of my available practice laps just getting CLOSE to the right setting, and then only having 1 or 2 to fine tune.

OK Here is another thing I use...
Engineer says Medium... I start at 50
Engineer says Soft... I start at 20
Engineer says Hard... I start at 80
As soon as I receive my first lot of feedback, I adjust by 15 either way. It seems a good number. Then I just keep dividing by two from there. I never have a drama. Then my team mate comes in, and finishes the job. By the First race, or even Qually, I have 100%.
I always select "Thinker". Gives me the oppourtunity to run my practice and warmup at 100%, so I get the most feedback, which is one of the most important things in this game, getting the correct setups.

Even if you do store the setting from the last race, they will have no bearing on the next race at a different track. It changes at each different track you visit. I use the 20, 50 and 80 scheme each time, going off the engineers advice. It seems to work for me.
The best thing about Kool Tools, is the Weather Adjusts, and the ability to see your team mates setups.
