I have my Home phone with Optus, mobile and Cable Internet. Had a few problems here and there but NEVER cam across anyone that gave me RUDE service.

To be honest, I have had so much more customer care from Optus since being with them. Telstra never really cared too much? but that's ok, didn't care much for them either? I get a GREAT deal from Optus and have NO hesitation in recommending them

I think so, and I think Vodafone has the same plan. Not 100% about wap though, that may be separate.

I used to be on a Telstra $79 cap, which was $550 worth of calls/sms/mms. I never got close to going over, but the costs per minute to get to the $550 were high, i think close to 50c a minute or over. As I am now in business I was advised to go on a $100 business plan where the call costs are in the 20c/min and if having a busy month the costs wont blow out

Yeah I guess, I've never really checked the bill, I just pay it! LOL Although I don't think it includes WAP usage, but I never use WAP anyways..

Now Im hoping it stays that way.

My brother had a K700i that wouldn't charge after 6 months, even after a new battery was put in it. He quickly got rid of it.

I am with orange, have been for ever but they cannot compete competativly anymore so i am changing to O2 because they are the network for the younger people (thats what vodafone used to be but they are more for businesses now) and offer really good deals like 500 messages and 500 free minits for £30

Been with both Telstra and Optus, both quite OK.
If you're a fan of V8 supercars, should have a look at V8 Telecom too.
Being an Australian owned company, you may as pay well them for a phone service rather than line the pockets of the multinational corporations and international phone companies.

I'm with Optus, have been for about 6 years. I'd say they are ok, service and support isn't bad. My only gripe with them is a few bad experiences at the Optus World retail outlets.

That is ture as I work for the big T and building the 3G network which is only weeks away from being turned on ,so I don't know why they are still selling these type of phones .
But I they everyone that asks me who is the best carrier for moblies and I tell them Optus if you stay in main towns or city ,but if you are like me who goes bush all the time I go Telstra but wait for the 3G to be turned on

stay as far away from 3 as humanly possible. I've had no end of trouble with them. Including them breaching their contract with me (which got me out of my contract 20 months early). I asked when I signed up if they used an Australian call centre and they assured me they did, which they don't. I also asked about how easy it is to change plans while I'm getting used to usage limits, they said it was a phone call, I asked if it would be actioned immediately, I was assured by the sales staff that it would be - WRONG - the change of plan must be done before the first billing day of the cycle which is usually 10 days before you receive your bill.

I currently have a vodafone prepaid which is great for me. My work mobile is thru optus.
