I put my fez in for service today. He suggested they should "flush the fuel injectors" for me. I have no idea what it means. Does it mean actually taking it out and cleaning the buggers out or does it mean adding some overpriced cleaners in the tank?
My fez is only 1 year old and travelled about 21,000 kms. |

Don't quite know what he means exactly, get him to explain. But perhaps if you've been running the fez on 91RON fuel and not 95 or 98RON premium, then maybe there are some deposits on the injectors that need to be got rid of to make the car run a little smoother.

You have two choices (probably more but two that are the main ones)
1. There are injector guys that do this. Probably a couple of hundred bucks. the difference was huge when i had it done, but that was on a car far older than a year. 2. Add a bottle to your tank of fuel. From memory, you have to add a bottle, then add another when you fill up again. Does make a difference, but again my car was older. i do finds it unusual you have to do this after a year. What fuel do you use? Cheers,

ah I see! Well my fez has a constant diet of pulp (98 RON mostly). It is only one year old and hasnt done a lot of kays. So that's why I'm kinda surprised that they suggested for me to do it.
Meh I'll just dismiss it as mark up happy mechanics and pop in some fuel addictive. Thanks all |

I've had my fiesta since new, its only 18months old and done 42 000kms, and only runs on 98 octane. I've had my car serviced twice and never had them say anything about cleaning the injectors. Every 5 thousand k's or so i run a octane booster through the tank. It is strange that only after a year they wanna do that. Is it a dealer you go to? Or do you have ur own mechanic?
