TMK this is the 3.6 motor..
Was called 3.6 so it couldn't be confused with the early Windsor V8 back then..Well ??? Early 60's...

^^ I don't think the 3.6L badge was intended to give it seperation from the older 221ci V8. This is because the other smaller 6 cylinder engine option of 188ci was badged as a 3.1L. ( Of which that size has never been in the V8 range ).

I think you may find that it was more so a time in that era when certain changes were starting to happen, such as switching to a new decimal currency. Also turning away from the imperial system and phasing in the metric system. Full automotive transition would come early to mid 70's.
Possibly Ford were just "testing the water" with the metric naming of both the 6 cyls.

( We still have references to both, ie 1/4 pounder burger. In europe macas it's called a "royal with cheese" due to the metric system. See cult movie classic Pulp Fiction, lol ).

Anyway, in regards to the original question, there is a 221ci on ebay right now, but not in SE QLD unfortanately. But looks to be a good unit, see below link.
