Ford has had a good show in the Wheels value-for-money awards this year (October issue). This looks at the overall cost of ownership including depreciation, service, insurance, fuel etc. A bit like the auto clubs lists and probably more ballpark than scientific.
The star is the Territory which came 1st in the large SUV/4WD category. Ecosport 3rd in baby SUV category (Mazda CX3 1st). Falcon (and Commodore) were 2nd or 3rd places in the large car categories but were beaten by Skoda Superb. Fiesta came 3rd in the light car categories (Mazda 2 1st). Ranger 2nd in dual cab utes (Triton 1st).

Saw this in the newsagents yesterday, Skoda's have been under rated for a while but to take out two 1st places with both petrol and diesel was even a surprise for me and I own one.
Hats of to the Terry, a great allrounder.

And Toyotas, which are top sellers, don't feature at all in any category except 3rd in Performance cars (Toyota 86).
Lousy to drive, lousy design and poor value for money but top of the tree for popularity. Go figure.

Owned by but still a separate company with its own way of doing things like Audi and Seat - including being more honest. But yes close enough to get caught in fallout from VAG stupidity. Deserves to be independent again if only it could tap into capital. Unfortunately consolidation is the way the industry is going.
