If you follow the F3 freeway north out of Sydney, you'll eventually get to the twin Caltex servos just north of Wyong(prob 70-80k up the freeway). A little further up from there(5-6km) the freeway will split in 2, the left fork will go over an overbridge & follow the coast up to Newcastle, whilst the right(the one that you want to take) continues up the inland route.
Keep following the inland route up as far as it will take you(another 70km or so).You will come to a roundabout, take a right at the roundabout(there's a BP servo as you turn to the right) & follow that onwards to Hexham. The twin Caltex's, fork where the F3 splits(just past the Sparks Rd interchange) are prob 45min up from Wahroongah(where u get on the F3) & the roundabout is prob another 45 up from there |

The part about going over the Hexham bridge at Hexham is wrong, coz that's gonna take you away from where you want to go.
It's extremely simple. Stay on the F3 until you get to a roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout. Stay in that road (which will go over the New England Highway and merge onto it) for three minutes and you'll enter Hexham. Stay in the right hand lane and the Oak factory and other businesses are off to the right at the first set of lights. I drive past it every day on my way to work. Tim |

Oh yeah, I'll add that the F3 is Police heaven, I travel it regularly. Sit on 115kmh (except for the 90 zone which is ALOT shorter than it used to be) and you're pretty right, sit on anything higher and the cars that sit in the bushes get upset.
Not sure I've done too many F3 trips without seeing a man in blue, either on display or hiding in the bushes. Tim |

Ah rightio... ah well he'll sort it out.
I know some people that do high-speed Mach runs on the F3 but it's hanging your license out the window, I say! And when are they gonna change that 90 zone north to 100, FFS. They have had the signs there for months but still covered up. Tim |

Its not unusual for people to do that, they do it at the other one too and every other speed camera on the road. My opinion on fixed speed cameras here in NSW is that if you get caught by one you werent paying attention to whats going on around you. There are more signs on them than you can poke a stick at and they read differently to the bogus ones. Some people I know recon there are nearly twenty between Port Macquarie where i am and the border but in reality there are about 8 but far more bogus areas where they have placed signs. Last time I went past that one was Bathurstweekend and the signs were still covered.

In traditional N.S.W. RTA money wasting style it would appear that they stuffed up on the location of this badly needed revenue raiser, & thought it would be better placed right on the crest of the hill, where the road flattens out. The camera was due for its grand unveiling in August, along with the dual limits(100 in dry,90 in the wet). |

There is one camera in place already with the signs leading up to it and all, with the cameras to watch the camera. It is, as you say, on the way up a hill though.
I wonder how they will decide what is wet and what is dry. They'd have to indicate what they think it is so you know how fast the pass the speed camera, or there'll be all sorts of lawsuits going round about it. Tim |

Could they be the type of camera that take two readings over a distance and average your speed?
