Indeed they do, I've just ordered a new DIN converter through them but postage was steep. 29 quid!

"Ouch!!.....thats a bit steep I would have thought", the DIN convertor cant be that big or heavy to post....working on the current exchange rate of around $1.00 to 40p that works out to be about $72.50 just for the postage!, can only imagine what it would cost to get a set of Eibach springs sent over.

Got a price last week from the local distrubutor up here in Qld, they were something like $580 a set for the Fez, then ya got fitting on top of that which the bloke I was speaking to said would be around $300 if they did the job plus $40 for a wheel alignment.

Yeah but the conversion works out to be 29 quid so really it aint to much of a transition

Yea Jim, agreed, I'm originally from Slough, lived in Burnham and Taplow mainly, been in Oz for 20 years, was in NZ for 10 years before coming here, anyway.....I guess what I was referring to is that in the UK everyone generally gets paid quantifiably more than what one would for carrying out the same occupation here in Oz, therefore 29 pounds to you or most other Brits is literally nothing, but to the average Aussie especially after taking into account the value of the pound against the much weaker Oz dollar it actually works out to be a fair bit more in "practice", $75.00 can work out to be a bit of a chunk out of some Aussie pay packets, whereas the equivalent 29 quid is probably a few lagers down the local of an evening for you or any other Brit, this is why in general the cost of living in Oz is substantially cheaper than it is in the UK, the cost of housing, petrol, groceries and so on.........we simply get paid less, the flip side is of course that anyone emigrating from the UK and has been earning Pounds Sterling and paying off their mortgage on their UK property for some time, can after converting their money into Oz dollars effectively live very nicely off here in Oz, Iv'e met many English people here who were just your "average Joe's" in the UK, but after taking the plunge and emigrating are indeed living like "Kings an' Queens" over here courtesy of the monetory exchange rate working in their favor......and bloody good luck to em' I say.

Yea, $270-$280 for a set of Eibach's to us is a sweet buy even after the conversion rate, but that P&P is of course the unknown quantity, this is exactly the view I was attempting to convey to "Jim1606", remember in the UK they are not hindered by a conversion rate bordering on a 3 to 1 ratio, they earn and spend pounds sterling in it's own quantifiable buying power, 108 pounds to the average Brit is "chicken ......!!", it's no wonder their cars are so modded up, everythings readily available at such attainable prices.

Ok you have a point, so howmuch would an Oz pay for a top spec fiesta if you converted the dollars to quids?

Jim, the list price of our WQ Fiesta Zetec in manual is $18500 + On Road Costs (which consists of Rego, Dealer Delivery and a couple of other incidental costs....around $2000 all up), the WQ Zetec is basically equivalent to your Zetec-S model,........$18500 = 7400 quid.

That price is without tax. You still might get stuck with GST by customs. & any other duty they might stick tou with. I've got some bike bits from the UK without getting stung, but they were quite small.

Our Zetec gets some of the running gear of the ZS, just not the bumpers or some interior bits.
Looking at the ford uk site, a Zetec s is 11595 quid which would be about $29g. These numbers are purely speculative, it seems we're not badly off.

New cars in the UK are generally a little more expensive than they are in Oz although used cars in the UK depreciate quicker and hence are cheaper to buy, bear in mind though that they also wear out quicker, they pour salt on the roads over there to get rid of the ice buildup,......."salt + cars = rust".

and is that for the top spec one!!!! if so thas CHEAP top spec here is about 10k

Have you looked into a Visa debit card? It has the ability of a credit card but you can only access the money you already have in a savings account.

Plus with the number of small cars sold there compared to us in Aus, you have a fantastic aftermarket. The numbers justify the money spent developing custom products.
