that sux. He's been around for ages and was one of the best around. The only person I'd take a car to for non-routine work when I lived in Newcastle. Sure there isn't just a relocation?

it was over 12 months ago when I heard they had gone bust and have not heard anything since, they were at Mayfield for many years then moved to Islington probly a couple of years ago then when they were last seen they were moving to Cardiff in the industrial estate ,was rumoured they were having financial trouble and closed.(pity they did good work)

Thanks for the info!

Scotts really did do great work.

I can recall when I bought a new Ford Meteor Twin Carb it had a bad ping. Ford were talking about putting two head gaskets on it or drilling out the jets. I had a friend who had work done at Scotts and I took the car there. A regraph on the dizzy and the car ran great with full static advance and no ping.

Yeah Scotts USED to do good work... until Gary (?) Scott sold the business about 5 years ago and it all turned to ****. Not surprised they went belly-up.

Default Newcastle Dyno

Thought i might add to this thread,

My brother and I have extremely different cars, he has a Nissan 200sx in british racing green and i have a VW Polo GTI.

We both wanted to get a dyno run done just for curiosity sake.

We decided to go to G-Force in gateshead.

Unprofessional is a rather large understatement.
The operator refused to put a fan at the front of my car.

Uhhh... When he wants to rev it out in 4th gear doing god knows what kind of speed in a Turbocharged car with NO airflow. I think that is disgusting.

His reason was ''its a huge mission to put a fan infront of the car''

I demanded he use the fan on it, So what did he do....????

He got a bloody bedroom fan and told me to hook that up if i wanted a fan. HA..

Let's just say i made him get the big one which they had just used for my brothers dyno run.

Anyway, they treated us like idiots. I wouldnt go back there

I've been to these guys a few times, before and after the name change, and always been happy.

Blacktrack Performance Dyno Centre (used to be RXengineering)
Unit 2/10 Pipeclay Ave
Thornton NSW 2322
02 49661235

Its only 30mins from Newcastle, $55 for a power run.

I know the guys at G Force and find it unusual for this to happen ,can you describe the operator or do you know his name ?
as I'd be interested in his side of the story.

thanks steve
