after a few years of fun with my BA GT i took a new HSV SENATOR for a drive on friday and realised how good these things are the 6 lt ls2 engine is way ahead of the boss .in my opinion much better than any equel priced euro car as well . it may not be ford but im happy to still buy aussie

Good on ya. When you buy the car not the brand a whole new world opens up. You have made a good choice. You'll probably be back in 2-3 years with an Orion. :monkes:

At the risk of getting flamed, I have driven both and agree with you. Leaving all Bias aside I think the BA/BF GT still look the goods but they compete with VY/VZ in performance terms and not VE and you can feel the difference in performance noticibly. Good to see FPV fixing the turn in on the GT's at last with the R Spec package and some Territory style front suspension/wider track will improve even further with Orion but lets hope they can fix the low down grunt on the Boss and bring the 8's up to scratch.
Enjoy |

To owl, the new E-Series HSV's are excellent today as the BA GT was most likely when you bought it a few years ago. It's all relative. Enjoy your new wheels and don't forget to post up some pictures when you get it._2:

They are tough but did you consider a Force 6? Not good value when compared to the typhoon but a worthy competitor to the Senator. If you need that V8 noise then I can understand your choice, but as far as performance goes, the VE HSVs only barely keep up with a phoon and cost more to mod as well.

The new LS2 is a great engine. It may not be as advanced as Ford 5.4L but it still gives the SS/HSV terrific performance - better than the GT IMO. I'm probably going to get flamed :lookedat:. LOL.

Thats it.. all of you get out!!! lol.
Unfornunatly haven't driven either, but looks wise i know where my heart lies.... the only holden i will admit looks good is the new SS... even in HSV guise i still gotta squint and look at it quickly to think it looks good. Each to their own though, and if the performance is there then good for you :-) but still... get out lol you think you can be unbiased here!!! wtf ever!. jk.

All the best with your alternative lifestyle, the more of you that come out the more society will accept you. Not my cup of tea though.

As long as you're happy with it mate, and you get your moneys worth out of it.
Personally, there is no friggin' way I'd wanna be mistaken for a MarkSkaife fan (where do we send the 'Rick Kelly Fan Club' sticker for the windscreen? )

Enjoy tour car. I personally think that all the new VE's are ugly. But to each their own.

I personally wouldn't get a VE, but well done in a good purchase.
If the VE wasn't superior in some ways to the Falcon, then something would be wrong. The car is pretty much 4 years ahead. Given the Falcon still competes in many areas shows how good a car the Falcon is. But yes, HSV's V8 does big smelly poo all over the Boss. I hope that can change soon. |
