I don't know if everyone has heard but crow cams can't produce any more camshafts through lack of billet's.
These were available from Ford but Ford are no longer supplying them. Appartently they new batch has to come from the states and these won't be available till June. Does anyone know where else you can get equivalent products thats not Jim Mock Motorsport?? Thanks again, Joel |

I was on the phone with crow cams just yesterday and the didn't mention anything of it. As a matter of fact they were helping me choose the cam setup for my car and had full availability.

hmm I think so, however the camshaft I was looking at needed me to change to 3.45 diff gears, and put in a 3000rpm stall converter or change over to a manual transmission. So its going to cost me $390 for the camshaft, $100 for the vernier gears, $120 for the valve springs, $30 for the lash adjuster repair kit, $600 to get the computer reprogrammed, $1000 for the stall converter and $600 for the diff gears. Plus a bit extra for installing the camshaft and valve springs all up $3500, does this seem reasonable?

where would you get the computer reprogrammed for $600.00? I got quoted $1200 for a crow cam setup with a mid power cam, lifters springs and all the seals needed. That's all they told me i need. got a quote to install it all for $260.00 from a guy who used to be one of the engineers that did a lot of work on the au's.

Any of the people off the Unichip website, ( I have a unichip ) will reprogram for around this price, got quoted over the phone yesterday, could have been dynomotive. The bloke from Crow told me $390 for the cam and $120 for the springs and i'm buying the vernier gear off a mate.
You have the eight i'm assuming so you'd need different parts to me. Maybe they have billet for an 8 cyl camshaft but not a inline 6. If you give me the number of the bloke thats doing the installation for you i'll give him a call too. |

it was from martin techno automotive, phone number 52789666, they are located in north geelong. I'm not sure what the cost would be for a I6. and that makes sense about having stock for the 8's and not for the 6's. that's probably what it was then.

not necessarily, if it is harder to get the cam in or out than the 8 it could end up being more expensive. I don't know what the set up is for the 6 or how hard it is to get to the cam. He told me with mine it would be about a 4 hr job. Sounded pretty reasonable to me.
