Been a follower of Liverpool since mid 1970's ! even before a Mr.Johnston made a name for himself ! Keegan,Dalglish,Steve Highway,Souness,Rushie and many more....
Love the game and still play the god damn thing @ 47.
Prem league has changed heaps the last 10yrs, I admire all teams that make up that tough comp but it's certainly become a euro league.
The local pom is a minority in some clubs but the imports have picked up the standard better than SerieA imo, more dynamic attacking football.
Can't live without my Foxtel lol my sons have so many reminder pop ups the wife doesn't have a hope with the remote lol....

Coming from Northern Italian blood Juve my Italian club, nice straight club administration lol....

o 2 b a gooner.

hate spuds and the mancs. the chavs are a disgrace. bolton and blackburn invented anti-football. actually dont mind liverpool, at least their fans are real. dont mind most of the others. while i am on a hatred mission, robbie savage is my most hated player. i dont like seeing professionals hurt, but was so glad when that 'hard man' broke his leg. i hope he never 'plays' again. bl00dy long haired, pointy faced taffy git.

If we're gonna include non-English clubs, I have to include Inter Milan. My nonno supports them so I never had a choice (I'm very loyal to family : ) I supported them when they were the biggest underachievers in Europe, but was thrilled when they won the Seria A by playing football, and not cheating their way to the top.

My family all follow Sheffield Wed (The Owls). I prefer rugby union but I have been to a SWFC home game.

Interesting that people seem to support two teams that hate each other in reality!

It's like being a Milwall supporter but having a soft spot for West Ham!

A lot of people have absolutely no idea about the sport so they follow two successful teams, unaware of the rivalries or history.

That's fickle for you.

See it in AFL all the time. WHen a team does well...up goes the membership. When the team goes crap, people lose interest. Always happens.

I follow Leeds United, even if they go down I will still support them. Why change teams just because they have gone down.

hahahah. priceless. i had the pleasure of heading along to the New Den a couple of years ago. i kept my gob shut about Arsenal. the firm were there, not watching the game, just staring at the visiting Sunderland fans. i accidentally walked into a bar near London Bridge where the Sunderland fans were drinking before the game. I left pretty quickly...

mind you, the 'ammers appear to be struggling a bit this season...

That is called "loyalty".

I applaud you.

Leeds collapsed overnight though. David O'Leary left and boomskie. Implosion.

Sad.

They might get up there again.

That's the downside of the English comp though. It's not even. Teams like Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U. have always been successful. Man U has been the dominant force since the EPL began ~ 1992.

Smaller clubs simply don't have the cash to buy huge players, so they'll never challenge. I think for smaller clubs, to simply gain promotion is a bloody big thing.

I do like the AFL's salary cap. But I guess if you did it with England, you'd ruin the game totally.

Traced family tree to a Great Great Grandfather born in Sheffield so I at least I have family ties.
Also, Def Leppard the greatest band in the world come from Sheffield!
I have a soft spot for Wednesday as well and follow their progress but when I chose between the two sides a Blade sounded better than a Owl! :
