If I elongate the mounting bolt holes in the timing pick up could I get more advance? What U think?

Refresh my memory: does the XR8 have dizzy ignition or coil pack?

Not 100% sure but if you did you might get 1 degree more advance by elongating the holes, what about using some sort of adjustable adpter plate?

AU2 XR8 has twin coil packs and a trigger at the harmonic balancer. The trigger is has 2 mounting bolts (these are the holes I would like to elongate)
AS AUXRVIII suggests some sort of adapter plate would be ideal, has anyone done this? Or can they give me a 'Heads Up' warning or suggestion? Thanks .... Dave |

Having a day off work and a spare $1500-$2000 in the pocket at the same time is more difficult than tampering with a trigger location. That is until Lotto gets its **** together and calls out the right numbers

Better not forget that you will be changing the timing in all conditions and not just peak advance and that may have a negative result on performance and/or durability.

Base Timing is what I am after, just to give more Torque down low. Chasing performance, Fords have always been durable for me no matter how much punishment I have dished out I have never worn one out or blown one up. Tried chevs, blown em all up.
