I remember going there years ago on a 4WD trip, across the Sandy Desert National park from memory. The Royal Flying Doc's was filmed there, we couldn't see old Maurie Fields on the run through though!

What do you mean by "What's it like?" Any specifics. My father in law lives there.

It is a long way away from Bairnsdale. Minyip is north west of Melbourne, Bairnsdale is east. Here is a map of Minyip (grid ref F10), closet major town is Horsham.

Here is another map of Vic, showing Horsham, Melb and Bairnsdale.

I used to live in Heyfield, now live in Maffra. From Heyfield it was 515kms to my father in laws front door. Very quiet. About 45 mins from Horsham. Very dry, very hot in summer. From memory only about 3 shops and a pub. That's it.

closest town is Warracknabeal which is 15 minutes away.
Minyip is very small and quiet but nice for a town in the middle of nowhere.
I'm from warracknabeal and now live near Phillip Island but we used to go there to play cricket and football. Yeah about 3 shops and a bank and pub and church.
