mate running 19's would be like running 3.08 diff gears with the standard rims.
if you plan to hit the track again get hold of some 15inch steelies and try and find some 50 series rubber to fit on them.try stalling it up a bit before you launch
88mph seems a bit down ,what tune /fuel were you running ?if these things pick up a knock sensor they'l drop 3/4 mph .

i am not overly impressed with the 88mph either... that doesn't equal 141rwkw imho... I agree with everything Fs5 has said... 2.5 is very slow out of the blocks but then the 88mph doesn't leave much in the power department to pick up the ground...

btw FS5 I am building another AU 5speed atm so you, me and the Monty will have to hit Willow again for some more great heads up action

Ohh yeah, I cant wait.
As for rims, I use my BA XR 17's. They have a smaller rolling circumference then the stocko 15's, are wider (215 Vs. 235) and the weigh exactly the same (21.7kg I think it was), so to go back to stockos, would not be a wise choice for me, as I need as much rubber as I can as I only get one wheel spinning due to the single spinner diff.
But if you had an LSD, maybe it would work better.
And last time I was there, I was running around 25-28psi I think in the rear, anymore and it was sideways city.

88 mph indicates around 110 to 120rwkws.On the night it was very hot. There was another au running with a tickford head ,exhaust /extractors and were pulling no better than 16.8's on the day. As I said to Joseph. He should start by trying to find the cause of his power loss. The best person to speak to is Spiro at autotech who tuned the car. Spiro is a top bloke and very good at what he does. He may be able to help locate the cause of the issue.
Say gidday to him from me.

racecraft, mont,i'm in pm me when your heading out.
dixr2c ,like i said earlier if they pick up a knock sensor (caused from crap fuel to a highly strung tune) they run like crap.
i reckon listen to stav's advice and talk to your tuner .remember your the customer paying for a service .

sometimes servo's don't sell the fuel there suposed to either.
if your running a 98 tune always ,always put some octane booster in before giving a good flogging/ run at the track.

I'm thinking of trying my luck at the track soon, would be stoked with a low 16 second pass with my close to stock AU with 19's

Do we want to make an AU outing to WSID. Just a social meet, you don't have to run your cars if you don't want to. I am keen on running mine just for fun.

Just a note to newcomers...If the brakes feel a bit weak...,steering all over the place or big vibrations coming from somewhere ..Do not run your cars. Some people get all to caught up in the thrill of the chase and compromise safety. Hitting 155 kays at the track is safer than the street but its still dangerous so please take note..
