Exclamation AU Series 1 XR6HP 98 Battery Problem???

I decided to rip the double din stereo out of the car and replace it with a single din deck. I pulled out the old in dash 6 stacker which I believe is from a 2001 au so I chopped the loom there tapped up the ends and decided I would do the rest the next day with spade clips. I also had a a headlight that was dim so I changed both of the bulbs as well. I removed the battery to make it easier to get to one of them then when I put the battery back and started it the indicator lights stay on and the high beam light also there is a weird electrical humming and a clicking but it is only when I put the lights on. The car starts fine and runs ok but whenever I put the lights on I get this same problem. Any ideas? Have I damaged ecu or something?

I had a similar problem with my brothers car after the intake was taken out to put new leads in. The park lights would come on when you pressed the horn and you would hear the relay clicking loudly, also other things like the a/c not coming on.

There is a wiring loom around the headlight/intake area which was being squished and shorting out somehow when the intake was put back on. We loosened it and moved the loom around a bit and all was fixed. This may not be your solution but try it anyway, you never know :1syellow1

With the loom you taped up, there could be a cross over happening... re-tape up the wires more individually.

With the Headlights, make sure you havent pulled at a wire exposing it and thus creating an earth out...
