hey it did look pimped lowed but if ya need it for family reason or it doesnt suit your needs, we dont mind, change it as long as its not the stock 4x4 look its fine.

Thumbs up My Ride - De Pimped!

Well I just got it back and it's just how I want it!

It drove really nice on the way home, soaked up the bumps nicely etc, etc. The test came when I pulled into the driveway, nothing! No scrapes etc.

The front is 595mm and the rear 610mm.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh! LOL!

i would lose the mudflaps now as they do scrape on the metal type speed humps found in smaller car parks and servo's, ect...

Maybe I'm : but I like having my mudflaps on cause I'd rather have them scraping then my tips etc. Works as a good guide for me and I don't scrape that much anymore. As stated you just get to know where and where not to take the car.
By the way GK looks good mate and I'm glad that it was all sorted for you with little hassle.

It looked pretty damn good decked before ... but with the long rear overhang it's just not feasible as you mentioned.

The final pics look to be around the same height as my ute ... which I find allows me to get in some of the worst driveways still .... but much better than stock height.

Although when loaded up it does drop a bit in the rear .. although I am talking 800-odd kg loads ... LOL

Although in your case ... with luggage ... full fuel ... and family onboard ... it should bring the back down to level with the front now.

It's only 15mm higher at the back so not really noticable. It would be if it was 15mm lower than the front of course! LOL! That's the rationale for not starting with it level.

Looks good GK - about the same as our wagon was. Our current wagon is somewhere around the 800mm mark - and that is nearly 2" lower than standard!

Well,

The car is at Pedders again. With a bit of settling and the family loaded up with holiday gear it was just too low.

Then upon return, it was level with the front, now allowing for any real weight to be added.

When I got it done, the gas tank was only 1/4 full and the petrol tank the same. Also, the pusher was in the car, not the heavier pram. Also the small toolbox was not in there.

I guess the car was running with minimum weight at the time I got it done.

So I took it back yesterday, full tank of gas, 1/2 tank of petrol, the correct pram in there, and also 30 kg extra, which is just under the combined weight of my two daughters. LOL!

I wanted it as close to real world weight as I could get it. I hope that I haven't overdone it with the 30kg in the back though. I figured though, that over time it will sag, and my daughters will only get heavier as they grow. We may even have another littlin down the track!

Also, we've decided to add a 5th leaf spring, as with only 4, it just can't cope with the holiday weight loading.

It'll be slightly higher than before, with a little settling again, it should be just about right. The 5th spring will ensure it doesn't drop much with a load, so all should be good.

Get the car back (again) today.

Will post pics after tomorrow's Nothern suburbs meet and greet. I might even wash it, but don't hold be to that! LOL!

Hey George, bit of a mine, but still relevant!

Thought I'd check in and see how this has settled in? How do you find the ride with the reset springs? I've been advised they can get a bit bouncy with reset leaves, but thought I'd check with a real world user!

Wash it please!! Just joking, my AU wagon is getting lowered maybe this week depending on shockie cost. Mine will be slightly ski boated, post up some pics when its done. I am taking 3-4"s out of thr back and putting superlows on the front. My new 18's and tyres have added 25mm overall than the 15's so in therory i am going down 1" on front and 3 on rear. My AU has sat up a bit in the rear. I want the tyre just under the guard lip. My other wagon (XY) had 325/50/15 Mickeys tucked up in the tubs, rim even with guard lip, they were 29.5"s tall.

Hi Justin,

Ride is okay. I got them to add an extra leaf in the rear, which means it sags less when loaded.

I still think the rear is about 10-15mm too high, but over time it'll sag a little more. I'm not spending any more money on the wagon, so it'll have to do.

I could get 3/4 inch lowering blocks though! LOL!

I'm outa here before the mod bug gets a hold again.
