Capri Front Lights

Hi All

i have a mk.1. capri pre/facelift 1972 .i would like to install the mk.3. front round lights on as i think the round lights look the goods
has anyone installed them do they need modify big time or just a small amount ..
just trying to give the car a meanner look on the front

I'm doing that to my Capri but using MK1 Facelift headlights.

To do it properly you need the headlights and all associated fittings but the Facelift had welded in metal buckets behind the headlights not the plastic ones that we all know and love.

You could possibly get away with using the existing plastic buckets but they are smaller than the facelift ones.

You would also need a Facelift bonnet or else the inner headlights become shrouded by the bonnet.

And....I'm told (not verified by myself) the facelift also required some rejigging of the engine bay side skirts for the wider space taken by the headlight buckets.

Plus that different bonnet as Jim has mentioned - fibreglass versions readily available.

Alternately, fit some rectangular driving lights into your grille. I did just that and it looks much more business like.

Hey Gerry, I still reckon it will be tuff with the standard headlights, sounded like a lot of work to change. Just think, it means you will be cruising earlier......

Correct. The Facelift buckets that I have incorporate some of the inner skirt so I'll have to find a way to join them neatly.
