I dont see any mention of platforms or engineering, just purely design, which imo has nothing to do with FWD, RWD or AWD. I dont think any of the global design submissions Ford Aus are submitting have much to do with Falcon other than the 2 submissions theyre making directly to J Mays that jpd80 mentions.

The replacement for Town car is the MKT , Ford has already indicated that livery versions of the MKT will begin late this year after Town car finishes. |

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_MKS And here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_MKT One interesting thing about the MkS is it's a actually a pretty big car, it's 25mm longer than an Audi A8. But read stuff on the current generation of Taurus and there is a fair bit of complaint about "large car, tight interier". maybe there is an opportunity for FoA to show what we're capable with in sizing.

The MKT is definitely the Town Car replacement and will be joined by livery versions later this year from Oakville Assembly plant in Canada. |

According to Lincoln its a cross-over. Which is making my head hurt. Whats the difference between SUV, Cross-over and sedan. http://www.lincoln.com/crossovers/mkt/

Ford could have developed the MKT as a long wheelbase sedan with a genuine boot but instead they made it a hideous hunchback arguing that it was more practical for livery companies wanting frequent access to luggage in the rear... ![]() Last edited by jpd80; 01-02-2011 at 07:13 PM. |
