Default Disable DTE??

Can you 'turn off or disable the DTE warning sound.

I've found that the sound stops when I put petrol in... j/k

If you could find the sound source you may be able to disconnect it, I don't know tbh.

When i had IDS hooked in to my SR i didn't see anything to disable it. Just coolant, washer bottle etc.

That's a low series cluster though.

you could always remove the speaker on the rear of the cluster for it..
but then if you leave your lights on you'll forget about them

That's a low series cluster though.
Yeah I have a high series in now so I don't see the DTE on the clusters any more. Being dual fuel I don't use petrol much.

this simple circuit will fix the problem it will make the fuel gague read full when you are on gas the resistor should be 1W the relay just a SPDT to act as a change over relay the sender wire just needs to be cut and the contact wired so the sender is connected when the relay is not powered up the resistor could be smaller if you wish 47 ohm will give you just over 1/4 reading

just an after thought you could put a normally closed momentary push button so you can check the fuel while on gas just put it in the wire to the LPG solenoid

Um, unless you have an electrical issue that causes it to sound all the time wouldn't it be easier to just put a couple of litres of petrol in it? You're supposed to run about 1/4 of a tank at all times anyway to stop the fuel pump chitting itself. Plus you need some petrol for cold starts anyway. I'm on gas 99% of the time as well and just run the petrol out every month or so and put in some fresh premium to help freshen up, (as it were), what's left in the tank.

not necessarily, some systems have a relay to disable the fuel pump when on gas. not so much the newer systems, but some older systems do. they also tend to be the ones with a rocker style switch that start straight on gas, instead of using petrol to fire up first...

i do agree with you tho. i normally keep just over a 1/4 of a tank in mine for that reason, to keep the fuel pump working... oh and to stop the dte beeping at me, lol

Cheapest and easiest fix for this would appear to be $15 worth of fuel.

Yeh I know what you mean, mine's dual fuel and was playing up and would beep when it shouldn't all the time. Jiggled a lot of wires etc, didn't make any difference then one day it fixed itself and has been good for about 6 months now. I suspect it was in the relay that switches the fuel gauge from petrol to lpg sender, but the relay seemed to test ok.
