Well after 12yrs, my Simpson Tucker Box deep freezer decided to pack it in today. Rest the well my good friend. You did keep the meat and icecream frozen at the right temperature and I shall miss you!

Now to go out and buy a replacement one that will probably break down within 12mths. They sure don't make stuff like they use too!

Amen to that! I can't remember how many hoses and plastic fittings I have bought over the years. The thing that really peeves me when the hose keeps poping off the damned fittings!!!!! So you cut a bit off the end and re attach. You know the story. You end up with a three foot hose..................

Don't get an iPhone, so many of my mates and people I work with who have them (and that's alot, pretty much everyone has an iPhone) have had nothing but problems with them. Having to take them back and get replaced multiple times, having weird alien noises when they call, poor reception. Plus, I really don't see the appeal in them anyway.
I have a HTC Incredible s, never let me down once and can do/customise so much more than iphone. Cheaper plan too.

On topic, I bought a pair of splices from repco for like $13. Biggest heap of crap I've ever used. I tried to cut, and the holes didn't line up or fully touch, no joke how they sell those to people without feeling guilt is beyond me.

so frustrating to use, slow, non responsive, reboots when it feels like it, appaling battery life.....all these superb attributes built into 1 device...from Australia's largest corporation....OMG

With their resources and budget you'd expect something more like an ipad not the POS that the T Hub is.

i have one, and a lot of friends have them, and havnt heard of any problems. i have a 4, and a few friends still have 3g ones that are still going strong.

i also have a mate with a HTC Desire? and he was having a few issues with that.

I can understand with TVs though, would you really want your TV to last 20+ years like the old ones with how fast technology is moving with everything TV these days.

Washing machines/dryers/fridges, no damn excuse.

X2 on this. I much prefer to accquire second-hand electronics built in the 90s & earlier.

IMO you just cant beat audio electronics from that era. Without paying through the nose.

Ol' Rimmington hair dryer kicked the bucket yesterday, Dad went to turn it on to defrost the fridge, sparks like anything, a big bang and black mark on his hands and clothes, lucky he didn't get a shock.

30 years of service, goes out with a bang , better to burn out then fade away right?

Mum wasn't too happy though,

hahahaha, I use the hairdryer I bought my fiance to dry my R/C stuff after runs in the wet lol. It has 3 heat settings and the 3rd is so hot after 2 seconds you can't keep your hand in front. Dries the car very well hahahaha.

My Nylex hose, plastic reel and plastic fittings were a gift when we bought the house 12 years ago - still working fine and never seen a day out of the elements...

On topic: $3k Toshiba laptop replaced twice before I spat it and got money back, now using $400 Asus which is 2 years old and hasn't missed a beat - work supplied iPhone 4, replaced 3 times, now using my personal HTC with work sim - I've seen a few talk up Sony but I'll never buy another Sony product due to shart customer service after in warranty failures...

Sharp convection microwave oven in my kitchen is 16yo and going strong - F&P smart drive washing machine that everyone said would last 5 years dies this year, 13yo - Gorenje Pacific fridge out the back is 22 years old and going strong...

My son has a toshiba laptop and after 3 months the motherboard died. Took it in and had it fixed and the guy at the tech counter said to me - I wouldn't have bought a toshiba laptop if you paid me too!

How's that for honesty!

Just thought of another one.

We bought new phone covers for our HTCs from one of those kiosks you see in major shopping centres. I got a "carbon fibre" one and my wife got a leather one with the front on it to protect the screen.

Mine is still OK, my wife's phone holder snapped in the corners after about 3 days use and wouldn't hold the phone anymore.

Ha ha yeah ive got a pair of those too, I regret not spending a bit more to get a quality item.

Mrs has a Nokia N8, piece of junk it is. Slow, randomly freezes and won't turn off unless you remove the battery, and to remove the battery you need a tool that isn't included with the phone. Thanks Nokia.

I'd like to add to that the newly designed underwear options they have - the thick elastic band at the top is so tight, even when the fabric part is the right size...makes for an uncomfortable day at the office. I loved my bonds gear, singlets, underwear, hoodies, trackies - in the last twelve months, none of them sit the way my previous clothing did, it's like they've changed the patterns to a size down and cut the fabric on the wrong bias... :\

I use that excuse all the time. Same with radio stations, they often play a different version of the song Im singing. Makes it sound like I got the words wrong.

Suggest you buy a lotto ticket. You're a lucky man. What's your water pressure like? Maybe by sheer random luck I've lived in suburbs/locations that have had great pressure. Good for hosing stuff. Bad for rubbish hose components.

I see alot of people saying Panasonic are a tried and true brand on this thread however I have had a bad experience with a 50" plasma I bought 2 years ago. Cost me $2500.00 and I didnt buy an extended warranty. Factory warranty=1 year. The power board failed emailed panasonic wanted me to spend $180.00 to send out a tech guy to write a report to tell them what they and I already knew. They also said they would pay to replace the part but not the labour under good faith but it would take two months in their workshop to repair it? Needless to say I told em where to shove it. Found a brand new power board the cheapest I could find $240.00 and replaced it myself. Works fine now.

Panasonic used to be good and still is if its still made in Japan. However they now make em in China or Korea and out source. Some stuff is still made in Japan still and that's the stuff you want to buy.

Bought Rare spares rear quarter rust replacement sections, They are crap and are not even close to fitting. Have some major bending and cutting to make em fit.
