I will be In SOUTH KOREA haha, on Friday and will finalise the drawings for Territory when I am together with the team. The rear is now set so just the front now and then to make tuning samples. A little more of a challenge to get all the features we want when mounting the damper to the yoke but should turn out quite good with all the original travels as much as we can.
Cheers
Brett

Yes, its hard to strive for both ride control and comfort, some sacrifices need to be made.
Have sampled King springs and Boge dampers and they were a considerable improvement but would like more body control without undue harshness (would drive the wife nuts, and make life miserable for me as well!! Ha ha ha..
Perhaps a softer than aftermarket spring and a better damper?

We will be going up in spring rate without the harshness, as we have done with the Falcon, even with new top mounts. One of the keys to the roll in my experience is from the rear in the Territory. Our tuning allows us to also keep our wife happy haha.
Cheers

That looks like a winning setup you've created for our cars. I've been overseas for work these past few months, but am back now and was hunting around for a good price for Bilsteins with H&R springs to fit to my FG XR6T. I'm looking at $1500 supply only for the German stuff, but if your kit is only $500 more with full adjustability... you'll have my business.

The jelly belly boss from the North can't catch me in what I am driving haha. I should be safe at the southern tip at the F1 circuit, I hope!!

Fighter jets always fly over in other trips and really low so, will get a shot and post it.
Cheers mate

Brett - thanks for all your help and advice. Was great to meet you last week. Boy can you chat about shock absorbers and seals and shafts.....

Mate, just a quick check in to tell you that the Coilovers are working great on the GT. so far so good. I'm very fussy with these things so I don't give thanks out lightly.

The car feels so much lighter on its feet and actually now handles like it's little 6 cylinder brother. The front end feels so much more planted and the on centre feel is so much more accurate. It's a shame they didn't manage to refine the suspension from factory further with the BF as they had planned.....it would have surprised so many doubters and shut the hell out of the critics big time.....

The ride now is a little more bouncy but the compliance is still great and is "comfy" enough not to unsettle the wife..... I imagine this will get even better with a new set of tyres that are coming soon.....the fact that the ride still feels good on a completely shagged set of tyres is pretty good testament to the quality of these things.

The ability to change direction sharply without under steer anymore is amazing....lost for words how much better it is. Our drive together in the rain was also amazing....how it managed to grip on sharp direction change with my shagged tyres in those wet conditions still has me gobsmacked!

I'm thinking of throwing out the whiteline bar and whacking the factory unit back in per our chat.....I think you are right....it will allow for even better balance without the added stiffness.

All in all - with the driving I've done so far and considering mostly in the wet, I'm impressed. So far so good. My favourite stretches of road that I frequent just got that much better.

I'll post some pics of the ride height up soon. Just need a nice day to wash BLUEY and get some nice snaps. No scrapes and the front and rear end sits just beautifully.....slightly lower than before but still gets access up the driveway with 4 on board. Great stuff.

Hi Brett, I just got an F6x with about 90,000ks making a few knocks, think some bushes are stuffed, would love your advice on getting them all done at he same time as a set of your shocks (when they're ready for the territory) and can you recommend anyone in SE Qld (Ipswich) with fitting?
Also have a FG F6, so will have to save some coin to get them both done

Hi Dylby77,

The Territory suffers badly from the bushes going which is a shame as its a pain in the $%# to fix some of them.
To date we don't have any dealers up North yet but have plans to get up there soon to find some good guys in the field that will sell and install our dampers. We have had a couple of delays in the new version of the Territory lower front mount but will be much stronger than the first designs.
I do know Pedders have a new bush fix for the front that seems to be OK and a new tool that installs it on-car so much cheaper to fit.
We only went up 10% in the spring rate over the standard Territory with the F6X but ended up a great improvement on the std rig. Now we have a better damper with more options so can't wait to get started.
I will be in China testing for the next 2 weeks and will start the Territory development on my return.
Cheers
Brett

I am hoping the new design with the stronger mounts will be air freighted by the end of this week so I can get stuck into the new tuning. I will post some photo's and advise when they arrive!!

We will also have the Ford ute dampers land in a 10 days but only have 6 car sets to start with. I will also advise when they are here.
Cheers

Hi twr7cx,
We decided to have to whole body threaded as it increases the surface area by quite a bit so good for the cooling of the damper on the rough stuff. Easy for us to manufacture either way but thought this would be better for our bad roads.

What springs are used? Are they just a universal 9kg 2.5" spring? I'm wondering how hard it would be if I wanted to change the spring to say a softer 8kg unit.

What is the height adjustability like on them? Contrary to most, I'm more interested in how high can I go (rather than how low)? I'd particularly like to be able to maintain the vehicle height at at least the Tickford XR/low height rather than going any lower and having clearance and scraping issues.

Yep, they are mate. I was just querying if they'd put together a complete package for the ute yet, on the back of your question.

Hi guy's,

The Ute dampers for the rear are on there way so will post up soon when they arrive. We have currently tuned the dampers for the standard XR rear leafs and will be also retuning for the Herrod leafs that work well but require a bit more damping. Should only be a couple of weeks away. I am currently out of the country tuning dampers for a couple of car manufacturers and will be back on the 30th. Sorry for the delays and a little frustrated we couldn't get them finished earlier.
Cheers
Brett

Hi Brett,
I've got Kings FOR-303SL leaf springs on my FPV ute... How would your dampers go with these springs?

Hey Pepscobra,

Should be fine with our damper tune but if you are not entirely happy, we would be happy to do a custom tune on your spring but from what we have done with the ute rear and the adjustment system should be very good mate. Just can't wait to get the bloody things to Shockworks!!

Cheers

Ah, so the rear dampers are internally adjustable?
You need to take off the top mount bolt and turn the body of the damper in order to adjust?
Thanks.
Joe.

Ha Ha They are not Koni's mate!! We have an adjuster knob under the top mount that you can just turn to make the damping force change so takes about 3 seconds a damper. No need to remove or unbolt, can be played with when installed.
Cheers

Ah, awesome, cheers Brett.
I thought that was it, but I couldn't make it out from the photos of the damper.

So who could I approach to get these set up in WA?

Joe.

We have not had the chance to talk to any dealers yet in WA, but takes about ten minutes to fit to the rear and off you go.
if you know any good reputable places we should contact, let us know. All our time currently is in development and tuning lately so need to find some good people in the states other than Vic.

The dampers are $699 for the pair and are fully rebuildable at a cost of $80 each and have a 12 months warranty which includes any track use. They are a big bore montubes, proven to be very robust and tuned for some serious bumpy roads we have in Australia.
Cheers

Brett,
I reckon you should give Peter at Wilkinson Suspension Centre a call.
He's a pretty reputable fitter and is very involved in the local racing scene and sponsors a few of the local car clubs, including the FPV Tickford owners club of WA, of which I'm a member too.
Joe.
