I'd say the buyer didn't finalise the purchase. Seems a bit odd but it happens.

I am going to go against the grain a little here and say I don't think 22k seems that far off what it is worth.
What would the striped mechanicals be worth? Eg diff would be fine yeah? Engine could be rebuilt cheaply couldn't it and result in about the best transplant for a Cortina/XD etc Rebuild the brand new auto. You could clean the leather interior couldn't you? Rspec stagered wheel and tyre package, gotta be worth 4k to someone? Brand new GT brakes $2.5k GT body kit.....probably $10k if you bought it in parts from FPV (front top grill is about $800, bottom grill $900, bumper cover $2400, foglight bezels $460 alone to give you an idea) All the brand new, perfect hanging panels. 6cly owners love the bonnets.... I don't think 22k is a bargain, but I don't think it is a huge mistake at that price either |

Sorry to bring up old threads.
Was curious as to what was the end result of this car? Did anyone buy it the second time around? I couldn't find it on the auction website (on the original link on the first page of this thread it says that it is sold). Also it might be useful information if someone is trying to sell it off and not disclosing it's history. |
