EEEUUGGHH!!
To each their own but I would never even consider owning one of these purely because of the way it looks, definitely not my thing. I much prefer the look of the original one

Found this thread and thought I would put in my 2c. Just to qualify, I have just stepped out of a Merc CLK500, had 4 Mercs, new XR8's, 2 Landaus, XA Coupe and 4 door GT's so a died in the wool Merc/Ford fan.
We needed to update the CLK and looked at a 4WD Benz, toyed with the idea of a diesel Terry, diesel was a pre-requisite because of the miles we need to drive but didn't know what else to look at. The Merc dealer also sells Chrysler and the finance guy knowing our requirements suggested I drive the 300 CRD. Got in a basic 300 with cloth but a host of other goodies and wow...the drive experience was fantastic, the CRD got up and went, pulled like a train, was quiet, responsive even the 5 speed box was not noticable, meaning it was good. The handling was very good, ride was excellent, driving position was also very good and I'm 6'3". So we bought a black 300C with beige leather and panoramic sunroof and after 1700 odd km's we are averaging 6.6ltr/100k with both city and country driving on a new motor, to say I am impressed is an understatement given the CLK was premium fuel so we not only save on the awesome mileage but the price diff from premium to diesel. My wife is 5'2" and finds the driving position very good, loves the way the car drives given her favourite car was a 140 series Merc we had. The first night drive last night and the auto dimming feature of the sensational Bi Xenon headlights works a treat, the sat nav is so simple, great stereo system and reverse camera is a real bonus. Like the new looks, rear valance with new twin pipe setup is classy IMO, Value for money is incredible, at a snip over $50k not sure there is anything that comes within cooee of this great vehicle. Time will tell but so far extremely happy. |

My mates nephew has just bought a SRT8. Brand new, only 300km's on the clock for $28000, from down Cronulla way (I think).
After 2 weeks, it seems some one hadn't bolted the computer into it correctly. When they investigated the reason's why the vehicle wasn't started they found it had no computer in it. LOL.. |

Sorry to disappoint.
They had a deal, 2012 models, needed to get rid of them. He went to a dealer in Nthn Sydney who later changed their minds from the $28000 at the last minute and was going to charge $48000. He then went down south, like I said, Cronulla way, where they agreed to the $28000 price as long as he went with their finance. Seen the pics, I don't like it but he does and he had got a great deal. |

Best thing would be to turn round and sell it and make money on it before it depreciates like a rock. If its legit....

Re-read original.......Tool!!
Wasn't bolted in correctly. It felt out somewhere. $28K he paid. V8 with cylinder deactivation, a refrigerated compartment for his beverages, leather etc. No Trade. Deal was a 2012 model. had to use their finance. Deals must be out there for cars not being sold. That's all from me Folks!! |

I think maybe the mates nephew is maybe understating the sale price to make it look like a massive bargain for some reason? That would be like picking up a 335 for 40k. I find it very hard to believe there's that much meat in a new car sale. |

You can barely pick up a 2006 SRT8 for 28k.
So a new one for that price seams to be even more unlikely. |
