Sad to see it pulled up short getting personal I know useless real well and we get on fine although we won't agree on everything and I have a lot of respect for Sox who is technically very astute on engines.

I have met Sox and is the type of guy I would have a beer with.

I dont know who started any bad posts later in the night but I trust your judgement Casper..
I am quite certain that I have not been derogatory to anyone in that thread so hopefully Ive said nothing out of line. As for all contributors to that thread I must say thanks..there were alot of good pointers by most posters...

Useless I was going to say you have absolutely nailed the whole drivetrain with the 3.7 LSD and hi stall and the proof is the 60' which i don't see any other Auto falcon doing very easily. I can't seem to get below 2.3!

Powerwise though the engine is not quite there. The TS of 90.10 mph even on a hot day was too low. Haven driven you car it really gets off the line well but mine seems to re out better which is not saying a lot as my best TS of the day was only 91.8 and lots of 90's too. I am pretty sure your original engine was a good one but the new "reco" one isn't so hot for some reason.

I reckon its time for headwork. Also get rid of that rocker cover with reco on it too mate and pant it red like mine that will definitely make it go harder

my car pulled 2.2 60' when it was stock with the 3.45LSD.
so i'm in no way impressed by useless' 60' time, yes the weather has effected it, but it should still be able to be dropped easily.

Hamo's got a better power to weight ratio here for sure he going faster everywhere. Your starts are very good but once your out of first gear you its head to head I would say our cars are pretty equal you are certainly not pulling away.

Actually, jonbays is pushing significantly taller gearing (yes, it affects all the way down the 1/4 as it takes more power to actually accelorate taller gears). The fact he was within 0.004 of a second of you at the end means he has more power in which to compensate for the taller gearing. He is at far lower revs in 3rd gear as he crosses the line then you are Stav.. meaning he is not in the main powerband for as long.
Of course there are heaps of other factors involved and if you compared the best run of both of you it would probably read different. Still, with 3.7's and a high stall you should be further ahead. On that run above you started with a 0.167 second lead and finished with a 0.004 second lead.. you got munched in second gear, Jonbays ran you down and it wasnt till he hit 3rd and the revs dropped again did your diff gears get you ahead again.

My best 60' was 2.2 with 3.08 open wheeler and street tires. Most of my runs were around 2.4s though.

Never so much as chirped the wheels either (im a pretty soft driver)

Oh ok, I wasnt aware 20Nm of torque makes a bigger difference than a 3300stall, 3.7 gears, semi slicks, less weight and 25rwkw of extra power.

Thats pretty much it.
I read it wrong but the end result remains the same. Your high stall and diff gears got you off the line much faster (as they should) but from the 660' line it was dead even.. with jonbays pushing taller gears, changing to 3rd later, not getting as high into the rpms in 3rd and with more weight.... he has more power, no question.
