Thats awsome thanks so much

I'm geeing it up the guys at the station, telling them to get their bums in to gear

most of them get there $$$$ in cash and through raffle tickets so it comes later, and normaly out do me in the closing days, but Ive had a cracken start this year so I think this along with the tickets I sell and some other Ideas I have Station 82's going to have a belter of a year at the relay

Bobs doing really well

I didn't work under him I was RFS then so I new him but never worked under him,

But my father inlaw saw him a few weeks back and apparently he looks 20 years younger, he normally comes out and steels a sausage at the station open day so I'll catch up with him then

On that same topic Jamie's looking younger now he's moved on as well

Dunno what that says about 82

We're are you at mate

OK Ive been asked many times about raffle tickets and I picked my book up over the weekend

I have now set up an account separate to my personal PayPal account, and I will pay the PayPal commission so the full amount goes to the charity.

If you want some tickets let me know how many etc I will write send you a PayPal request for money and once its paid I’ll send you the tickets in the mail.

This is going really well, my team got off to a slow start (infact if it wasn't for the support here I'd be a little demoralised) but the teams getting bigger raffle tickets are selling well, so in a weeks time when we start the relay I think it will all go great.

That said I'm always happy for more support http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...-Fire---Rescue

The relay is on this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it

Last year we managed a total including raffle tickets and other money we managed to pry from peoples hands of $2773

So with our current tally at $1410 and none of the raffle money banked yet, we are looking like beeting last years total

But we can always use more

http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...-Fire---Rescue

I'd really like to be over the $1500 team goal before we walk the first lap

OK

The relay was on over the weekend and I think everyone is in a little pain today

it was a fantastic weekend for it and the Relay committee trailed a new lap counting system so it will be really good to see the stats for our team once they become available

Anyhow, last year after all our moneys was banked we raised $2,773.20 this year our tally is $2,180.00 but we still have some $$$$ yet to bank so I'm confident that we will out do last year’s total (you can still make a donation if you feel so inclined )

here’s some photos from the weekend

My son, got a little over enthusiastic with the giant soccer and sprained his wrist

I suggested he get a second opinion off the hot paramedic but he wouldnt be in it :(

I'll post up more when I get them from the other guys

I meant to report back but got side tracked

A few weeks ago the relay was wrapped up for the year, our team goal was $1500

We raised thanks to every one help $3040

The Hawkesbury relay managed to get its $1,000,000.00 for the 10 years (I think that's fantastic)

Thank you to everyone who supported my team (some of which have done it for a few years in a row and I really appreciate it)

Heres a little video put together by the comity http://youtu.be/gteBTiQLMGU

OK Guys n Girls, we're doing it all again

This year we are also challenging the guys from the neighboring station to a game of touch, (for years there was an annual game with a perpetual trophy, but for some reason about 5 years ago, it stopped, I don’t know that they have noticed but every year the game doesn’t happen we have had the trophy engraved with us as the winner. We sort of figure, if they haven’t set a date we must win by way of forfeit

Anyhow the yeti has his hand out again this year

If you want to support our team here is the team page http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade
And if you do the facebook thing here is our teams facebook page just ‘like’ it and you’ll be kept up-to-date with the teams progress

Looks like we'll be hanging on to the trophy by forfeit (Windsor have piked) so we are challenging the neighboring RFS brigade (my old brigade), in a kind of play on City vs Country we’ll have Townies Vs Bushies

The moneys climbing well (we always want more ) but we have $715 banked and I have $100 in my sky rocket I need to get to the bank plus what the other guys have so we’re looking ok

As the Richmond fire brigade we have been participating in the Hawkesbury Relay for life for A lot of years, and we've really enjoyed the event, This year for something a little different we thought we would also participate in some of the fun on the infield.

So we challenged the Londonderry RFS to a game of Touch Footy, we thought since we've worked with these men & women at many incidents over the years, it would be great to do something on a more social level while still also doing something to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Council.

The Townies Vs Bushies match is just a fun game of touch, but one that is full of pride for each service. We're having a trophy made by Jab-air that will be presented after the game and we're hoping it becomes an annual event between the 2 brigades.

Here's a few a work in progress photos he's sent me, I think you'll agree it's turning out amazing.

The match will be held at the Hawkesbury Relay For Life on Saturday 24/5 at 4pm at the Hawkesbury Show Ground. So if your local feel free to come down for a look see

If you would like to sponsor our team just click here

http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade

All money raised goes directly to the Cancer Council

Or to keep up-to-date with the brigades relay team on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Richm...ref=ts&fref=ts

As some of you know the Hawkesbury Relay For Life was held on the weekend.

And what a weekend it was, we tried a few new things to get some interest in our team (interest that we hoped would lead to donations), We have a local man (Daniel) who’s mentally delayed, Anyhow, while he can be a bit of a handful he’d do anything for you and the team, Dan has become our ‘Team Captain’ and he has a ball.

Well, Dan, this year devised a plan where he would shave his head if he could raise $1,000 and he hasn’t had a hair cut since the 2013 Relay so you can imagine the look. Dan as he does every year gets picked up by a fire truck and taken to the Relay, it was a bit of a shock though when he handed Colin (one of our team) a bag containing $901.75 ($400 odd of which in small change  ) this was the money he had “Danbushed” people for at his job at the local YMCA heres some photos of the shearing

Another thing we did was start what we hope will be an annual thing called “000 Cup” to have an event you need a prize and in this case a trophy, a few weeks back I phoned John (Jab-Air) and we had a chat over the phone and he was only too happy to help me with this project, as much as John would have liked some sort of brief on what we wanted, I had none to give so I left it up to him and his imagination and over the next couple of weeks he sent me progress photos of the trophy with every update (I forwarded it on to the other guys helping organise this event) we got more and more excited until the day it came back to Sydney, to say we were amazed is an understatment, from there it went to a friend of mines to have a base made so it would be able to be used as a trophy.

And this is the finished trophy

The thing with this trophy is as you turn it around the seen changes so no one photo actualy shows off Johns art work so heres a 3 photos joined together to sort of show off Johns artwork

This is simply a game of touch footy played against another emergency service, this year we played my old Rural Fire Brigade, and I have to say 5 mins before kick off I was feeling rather nervous, some of our team got delayed and wouldn’t be able to get to the relay until the 2nd half others just didn’t show, and the RFS walked in with 14 players with their own shirts they had made for the game and looking VERY ready for the match.

But we got a team together, I threw a spare Fire & Rescue NSW T shirt to Lachlan my 13 yo son, and one of the other guys did the same and we had 7 for kick off, considering my son plays soccer (and so does the other boy) and neither had ever played any form of league these kids were fantastic & with the added bonus the RFS guys were worried they would hurt them so they went pretty easy on them : however come ½ time we were down 2/0 and feeling pretty deflated we had a bit of a pep talk in the center (that was mostly theatrics)

And started the 2nd half 2mins in Lach grabbed the ball and made a break for it before passing to one of the other guys who grounded the ball sealing our mark on the scoreboard.

Sam (yes we have a fire man named who's name is Sam  ) one of the guys that was delayed turned up and with his help we managed to even the scoreboard, we scored another shortly there after, and the game was pretty much ours then finally my secret weapon arrived, Our area Inspector (who played professionally before joining NSW FB and continues to play on the Firebrigade state team) 2 mins before finall whistle took the field replacing a VERY wornout Yeti Snr, Davis passes to Tapara, Tapara’s touched, ball goes to Yeti Jr, Yeti Jr passes to Duffy, Duffy passes to the inspector, the inspectors touched. We’re in front of the line. Ball to Davis, Davis to Melverton, Melverton to the inspector, and the balls grounded right on the whistle.

Fire & Rescue Station 82 take out the inaugural 000 Cup

The footy didn’t raise any money as such, but it enabled talk in the local press, which helped us get quite a bit in the way of sponsorship from local businesses,
Anyhow, on Behalf of the Richmond Fire Brigade Relay For Life Team I would just like to say a thank you to all who supported our team this year.
Our team goal was to better last years total of $3,040.00, and as of this morning our team total is $5,248.75

But it’s still not too late to donate, all you need to do is visit this site http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade and go from there, all donations above $2:00 are tax deductible and you will instantly be emailed your tax receipt.
