Hi all,
My sister's 2012 Focus (Ambiente) has gone for servicing today and the dealer called back saying front pads are almost worn and needs replacement. Cost to replace pads and loaders is $650. I know what a pad is, disc, caliper, piston and other bits and pieces. Wondering what a brake loader is? And why is it so expensive to replace just front brake pads and "loaders" whatever they are.. Does anyone know what a brake "loader" is on 2012 Ford Focus? cheers

sure he did not say Rotors?
They usually need replacement quickly as the factory ones are soft metal giving betters stopping but wear quick. |

Lol yes marg99 you are right. He was referring to rotors. Anyways, car has done around 28000kms. It seems front rotors are undersized already. Is this normal life span of the rotors on Focus?

True. If they are worn they are worn. There isn't anything much that could go wrong with rotors so that they wear off quick. Thanks for your comments.

You could just always ask them for the measurements on the rotors. New is 25mm, minimum is 23mm.

Screw Ford and DIY.
Buy some quality DBA rotors and performance pads, last longer and stop better .
