Smile The MG is back..MG LE50

"We’d like to introduce you to the MG LE50. The natural evolution of the sporting Grand Tourer. There’s no mistaking the car’s silhouette. It’s the classic MGB, designed in 1962 by Pininfarina, reimagined and re-engineered for the 21st century by Frontline Developments.

We’ve taken all the elements that made the original car a legend in its time and brought it up to date, allowing it to evolve into a sports car made for today.

The sports car you’ve been waiting for.

Pricing – prices start from £54,900.00 plus VAT with a wealth of options to personalize your own vehicle.

The MG Abingdon Edition

"The concept was the easy part, the design a greater challenge and the implementation even more so, but welcome to the all-new MG Abingdon Edition. Conceived for the driver that appreciates quality and craftsmanship but wanting something more than just understated class, style and charm. The Abingdon Delivers literally earth shattering performance transporting you from 0 – 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds. Combine this with the latest in suspension and braking design, add in the most detailed of finishing’s using the finest materials available in the world and you have a car that will not only make you smile every time you see it, but find every excuse available to get back behind the wheel.

Described by Richard Meaden of EVO Magazine as ‘one of the most enjoyable and desirable cars I’ve driven all year’, you don’t have to take our word for it, this is a very special car indeed

Could this be the ultimate old sports car?

But where's the soft top?

Yeah looks pretty good except for the hard top, soft top and roll bar all that's missing.

Depends what donor car you give them - they are just rebuilding cars and putting a few modern bits in after all - Title is a bit misleading, they are not an MG anymore when they are finished.

Its not an MG unless it has three alternative backup systems for stopping the car:

1. Brakes
2. Ignition key
3. Lucas electrics

No need for a soft top. For 55,000 pounds, you could probably buy two MX5's.

There is a character and charm with an MGB and MGBGT which have certain engine/exhaust sounds, vibration, overdrive short shift gearbox and other things which these modernised MGBGT's would lose. 55.000 pounds can be better spent on something better and more comfortable.
