Very nice piece of kit, just one thing though, the dash looks to me really old fashioned, reminicent of the 70's or maybe 80's. Not a fan of that at all. But 525 ponies and a 3.8 quarter would probably make me forget about the dash

I hope Ford don't bring it here because I will find it very hard not to get one.

i know it's all about the engine, but you'd hope there's an option to upgrade the gameboy screen they have transplanted into the centre console.

I probably couldn't afford it even if they did bring it over, but it'd be hard to resist doing some regrettable finance on one.

Interesting that they've matched the 6 pots calipers at the front with 4 pots at the rear. I know majority of brake force is needed up front, but still not sure why the standard Mustang pairs both the 6 and 4 piston calipers up front with pathetic little single pistons at the rear.

They would disappear like virtual photons if Ford bring them into Australia and at a reasonable (approx AUD$75k) price. But I'm not sure that these are being done in right hook.

because the braking with these is more than sufficient with the 4 pots, and very effective with the 6 pot brembos. Have a quick google and read about them, nobody is complaining about the mustang brakes.

Then compare the setups to the stock SSV or older XR8's.

For the price, its a great setup, not pathetic at all except perhaps for aesthetics.

Ever sat in one?

I thought it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the toggle switches at the bottom of the centre stack that looked like shiny silver plastic, not chrome like they tried to make them look. And maybe the hand brake on the wrong side.

That's because driving just about anywhere Stateside is like driving in a mobile car park.

I had a BF F6 and an FG F6 and if you really got into it the standard 4 - 2 pots were pathetic.

Yeap standard pads and rotors are very poo. Try some decent pads (Project Mu), rotors and braided lines. Track days with 300rwkw+ are more than okay

Yes, they don't have racetracks in America, you're right.

From all accounts I've read, the braking is more than sufficient stock. It's the first comment people make about them - they're quite bitey, and they resist fade reasonably well. I'm not speaking from experience - haven't got mine yet - but it's certainly a feature I'm looking forward to.

Plus they are 100+ kg lighter than the falcons, always helps.

Well like most cars these days, the brakes are "adequate". When I mentioned "getting into it" I meant track days (as you can't explore the limits on a public road). My BF F6 wore out its factory pads at 16.000 kms and the front rotors were shot at 22,000 kms.

As the Mustang is being presented as a performance car, I would like it to have 6 -4 pots standard but as I alluded earlier, the bean counters make the rules.

looks really good, personally i prefer the old style dash board, they can leave the tv`s in the centre stack back in spare parts for all i care, the only problem i forsee for the blokes getting these babys is keeping the licence.

GT350(R) has to be one of the greatest Ford products of the modern era.
Handles well, goes well, sounds fantastic. That engine is a gem.
