Doesn't matter which way you roll, soon enough you'll all be allowed to get married!

Paper over is the right way.

ak99, it's not the majority rules theory. She just might bring this up when it's ammo for later. Of course, this is just a guess, not like I'd ever do that and use it to my advantage, you know?

placing the bar through the roll (which I will say took some doing, cant drill the paper) reminded me of when I was young and silly (dinosaur days indeed).

we used to put gladwrap over the bowl and close the seat (not lid)......come to think of it, that went down like a lead ballon as well!!!!!

Away from the wall

Seat and lid down

Three ply, fingerproof paper.

take any roll of product ( i work with large drums of cables) and test the force needed to turn the roll . it will be much easier to turn if you are extracting the product from the top of the roll towards you as per the above photos. how often do you see winch ropes coming off the bottom of the winch drum ? almost never of not never at all. there may be some special exceptions but would be very rare.
if we load up a drum of electrical cable so that it pulls from the bottom of the drum (paper towards wall and wraping around the roll ) it is very hard to get the roll moving and keep it rotating. if cable pulls from top of roll it is fairly easy to start moving and once it is moving it takes very little effort to keep it going. this is because your pulling away from the roll not trying to lift the roll as you pull.

hence if paper is towards the wall it will need more force to extract the required amount from the roll and will usually result in premature tearing of said paper so you will end up with several small sections of paper to make up required amount and so increasing the chance of gaps in the paper resulting in s.....ty finger syndrome .

i always have the paper coming off the top of roll outwards.

i hope that this short physics lesson has helped to save a few marrages and brings peace to the world.
you Sir, are wasted on here

I think women like the paper running down the wall cause it looks neater, and men like it the proper way, because it works

I used to think it was best against the wall, out of the way, but now she only buys patterned paper, explaining that it has to be put on so you can see the pattern, so away from the wall. As for the seat, I moved in with her, so have always considered it her house( even now, 26yrs and 10 or so houses later )so I always put it down... But, I put the lid down too, so we both have to lift something to have a pee. I like to think of it as a little win.
