do you honestly think v8 owners are worried that the 6t might be quicker.we buy v8 because we want an 8 .i can go down to the local shopping centre and just watch all the wives/girlfriends in their high performance shopping trolleys/school buses.i would think most of them wouldnt care how quick they are.

The Aurion would kill it! FWD gives better traction right?

The XR8 Sprint's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 offers 345kW @ 5750rpm and 575Nm from 2220rpm - up 10kW and 5Nm respectively over your normal XR8.

However it's the XR6 Turbo that's really been boosted (pun intended). In Sprint guise it offers 325kW @ 6000rpm and 576 Nm @ 2750rpm - that's 55kW and 43Nm over a stock XR6 Turbo.

Ford says it has developed a transient overboost function for both cars, meaning if conditions allow (specifically intake air temperature) the engines offer extra performance for up to 10 seconds. In the XR8 Sprint that means up to 400kW and 650Nm.

Another way to look at it :

XR8 Sprint is 6kW down on GTF and XR6 Sprint is 15kW up on F6.

To be honest, I do think they care. If Holden released a final SS with more power and faster than my Sprint, I would be shattered. Why do you think Holden and Ford have always had Power wars, constantly swapping and changing power figures.

Hahaha yeah I'm buying a 325kw turbocharged 6 and don't care whether or not it is fast, LOL. Each to their own I guess.

I guess it depends on your personality. I'd happily buy an XR8 today and have the Sprint come out in a few months time and run circles around it. Why? Because the 99.999% (error margin of +/-0.001%) of the time I'll be driving it, 1/10th of a second faster to 100 means zero.

Holden could bring out a super dooper SS and I'd still not care even if it meant my Holden loving friends would be able to bag me out for owning a slower XR8. Why? Because none of them would buy the SS anyway.. ;) nah, because there would still be thousands of cars on the road driven by faceless people that would run rings around it - why should I care if I'm driving a cracker of a car that I enjoy?

I don't really care which one is quicker. I'll run either of them at the lights

But 6Sprint, what would your neighbours think about your financial standing by buying a lowly Ford?
