Different vehicles i stock differently, the au i carry a Tyre pressure gauge , usual spare wheel stuff , Sunnys and mobile phone and that's it.
The old ls 400 is pretty reliable, i carry about the same in it, though it has its own basic little tool kit .
Other cars in the past have carried heaps of tools.

Apart from the standard equipment that came with the ute all I carry under the rear seat is 4 ratchet tie-down straps, a pair of gloves, a rag, 2 plastic bags, a torch, cloth cleaning spray for when the dog uses the back seats, a presta valve to schrader valve conversion piece for my MTB and about 20 old receipts (mostly under the front seats)

Hello,

Thanks for the replies, in my case I go out of phone range and may be the last one through the road, so in my mind I like to think I am prepared. I was curious about what others have, there may have been something that I thought I should add. If is in the Cab, it is always there. A box in the back may not always be there when you need something.

The list goes on, axe, spade, sleeping bag, spare clothes. All this is in the Cab. Main problem is when the GF drives it, she moves the seat forward so I have to repack behind it after. A Car has a boot you can fill with handy things, but a Ute has far less space available. What sort of things do you carry ?
Uh...

In the work ute i hace spare clothes on the back seat, like jumpers beanie etc, wet weather gear, sunglasses, in the back all my tools, which are all safe in a locked canopy, in the Patrol i have recovery gear, normally a few beers rolling around haha or in the fridge, a umbrella, and a basic tool kits, with spanners tape those sorts of things, normally a flanny i've forgotten about, and usually tons of the missuses booby pins, those thing seem to multiply, waiting for them to appear in the Ranger now haha

Lol its a slippery slope

In my ute (s) I started off with a Faber Mustang II purely because I got it cheap, previously what I had I kept at home with a very basic breakdown kit in a 50cal ammo box behind the seat
http://www.fabertoolboxes.com.au/product/mustang-ii/
It soon got filled up with what I had that I thought worthwhile, and a collection of bits and pieces that grew untill it was full to the point it was almost solid when it was closed up tight, then I got a awesome deal on a pair of Faber Jackaroo toolboxes, one with two drawers and one with a drop flap on the front.
http://www.fabertoolboxes.com.au/product/jackaroo-ii/

Well.... you know how the story goes, you can never build a shed thats too big, because you soon fill it.... the collection grew untill you get this (no pics of the other one because its all packed away)

Well.... I was working for Repco and I was getting some awesome deals on tool pricing, so the collection grew, I had my tools with me at work and often fitted things for customers (even cut down an overlength tow bar insert for a lady with a Ranger, THAT made me popular!) and every now and then someone would call me to come and bail them out of trouble..... and eventually BOTH boxes ended up full....

*sigh* one day, I'll buy a shed, offload most of the stuff from the ute, and stop answering my phone.....

Sorry two of the photos arent upright, photobucket keeps changing them so theyre sideways
