Weekly Race 4 Real Report: April 12, 2017

Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!

Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway.


Top Holden of the Week



This immaculate HQ Holden GTS was original as they come and definitely snapped a few necks with both its aggressive looks and beastly V8 roar. This HQ GTS ran a best time of 15.50 @ 85.93 MPH.


Top Japanese of the Week



One of the most iconic cars to come out of the Land of the Rising Sun, the Datsun 260Z is a legend no matter how you look at it. This 260Z was decked out for the track and managed a best time of 13.11 @ 104.78 MPH with the help of those sticky semi-slicks.


Top European of the Week



It’s safe to say that straight-line speed isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when talking about the classic Mini. This blue example, however, was far from standard, managing an impressive best run of 15.60 @ 84.32 MPH.


Top Ford of the Week



The Shelby GT500 is definitely a rare sight down here on our side of the planet. Looking as mean as ever, this GT500 rocketed down the quarter mile to a best time of 13.18 @ 111.88 MPH.


Commentators Pick of the Week



As you can probably tell, there was a bit of a classic theme going on here at last week’s R4R event. We’re pretty familiar with this humble little Volkswagen Beetle and it certainly impressed, running a best time of 14.06 @ 91.86 MPH.
