All of the manufacturers appear to be very guarded when questioned.

That's a great find Syndrome! Like a really well made black & white movie, where there's less sensationalism, and more time to think. It's obviously been cleaned up very, very nicely for transfer to digital, too.

Those three Team Managers are superb characters - each in their own way. They all spoke very well - even if they were a little light-handed with the truth at times. Al Turner should have got a few regular roles playing some sort of CIA Guy (like Felix Leiter...) in the movies...

Many Thanks for that!
Sooty.

Brilliant viewing.
Al Turner was entertaining to listen to, very diplomatic and smart with his words.
The Chrysler chief was a very level headed guy for someone so young at the time.
How times have changed.

With the Bathurst 1000 imminent it is worth bumping this thread for those who have not seen it.

I was lucky enough to be there for this 1970 race, I was also present at the 1967, 1968 and 1969 Bathurst events. I also attended the 1971 to 1975 events as well.

Bathurst was shear excitement in those days, cars that you see on the street were racing with absolute minimum improvements. It was great to see what fell to bits.

Little wonder that the Australian automotive industry was alive and extremely well in those years.

Today, I would not even watch it on the TV. Shells of cars that look like a Falcon or Commodore with American race parts through out.

PS A great clip which I will download !
