Default Rhino up for auction.

Seized asset, Ill gotten gains forfeited from a drug dealer?
Says it's an import, well technically it's just come back home as it was exported to Sth Africa originally.

Still, looks OK, might have to go for a drive day before auction and check it out.

I wonder if the owner will bid for it back...
I like lot 228, boltcutters, two axes and a centre punch. That'd be heaps cheaper than actually bidding on the car lol

Never understood why the rhinos are valued so much lower than a falcon gt. You see replicas fetch better prices than rhinos.

I believe XY Falcons were assembled in Port Elizabeth. not sure about GT's

I don't know much about the Rhino, but by the pictures its looks very factory and looked after, surely worth a lot more than a replica

From this article, it looks like the were exported super roo GTs and re-badged as Super-Rhino Fairmont GTs - worth 80K plus

"Rhino" and the decals were a local thing back in the last boom I think. Nothing to do with SA.

They were CKD kits, Futura interior, nearly all autos, unique to SA colours and the build was quality varied from good to poor on the cars I've seen. Ford SA seemed to have some trouble with the welds.

They are a great car and a real alternative to the silly prices for XW-Y GTs. The job is finding one which isn't clapped out or has been "Australianised" into a Falcon GT.

No mate, didn't get there unfortunately.
Prob out of my price bracket anyway, I don't think 10k would have secured it.
