I wonder what failsafes there are for 800V.
Does look nice, but performance wise it seems it's still not close to what Tesla can do. |

You’ve got to hand it to Porsche, its core look never goes out of style.
Sensational concept. |

Wow. Had a R/C toy Porsche as a kid. Not even then would have I imagined one day Porsche would make a real life-sized one. I won't be satisfied until the real thing comes with a remote control...

I wonder if it can recharge using Tesla’s free power stations? Now that would be ironic, but having a standard power inlet is necessary if EV’s are to survive.

That is one lovely looking machine, bravo Porsche. 500hp is more than enough for every day use and 500km to a charge is ok too.
The day they can produce that and have a full recharge in under 30 minutes, internal combustion engine will be confined to sunday drives and car shows within 15 years me thinks.

Are the European car makers building supercharger networks like Tesla? If they are that's going to cost a fair bit of coin i'm guessing.
Battery system? Building their own or getting them from a third party? |

https://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11467714 Though it does create a problem of charge point standards. Batteries? I'd say they'd rely on specialist companies to do them.

Great review. No matter how much i try i just can't get excited for an all electric future. I feel that all ev's will just end up feeling the same without the different engine notes, power deliveries and gearboxes that we currently have that give a car some character beyond its looks.

Are you the aging Y generation? Oldest are nearly 40 now. Cos most of the kids I know (Z gen) are into black rims, lowering it, Fridee night burnouts, RWD, and many of them getting second hand Falcons and utes now after their buzzboxes have dropped a transmission.
I'd say it depends on where you are/what demographic. Here in the outer suburbs/exurbs, it's a different world. One that resembles the world as it was. Agree with you on electric future btw, it will happen and fast, and its spread will slow the further it gets from the inner city.

Only a few months ago, many claimed that EV's had no future. No company will build them. How things change rapidly. Imagine the range if the motor was only 200kw.
