Ken Block dies in snowmobile accident

American rally driver and motorkhana superstar Ken Block has died in a snowmobile accident.

An official social media account of Hoonigans, his brand and the name of the rally team which he founded, announced the news a short time ago.

“It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today,” read the post from Hoonigans.

“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband.

“He will be incredibly missed.

“Please respect the family’s privacy at this time while they grieve.”

I thought this was a hoax at first. RIP Ken. His gymkhana videos were legendary.

I reckon Audi would secretly be a bit ****ed they paid millions to poach him from Ford, for very little return in the end.

Seems surreal, he cultivated an image of invincibility.

I would be quietly confident that in his contract it would state for performances and or services rendered. Same as sports players, surely they get kept being paid for non performance.
But I stand to be corrected

Such bad news, he's driving skills were amazing in all sorts of cars and conditions.

Will miss watching with my son on YT.

Sad news indeed.

His 16 yo daughter Lia was becoming fairly involved in the motorsport scene as well and seemed just as passionate about it as Ken. I hope she is able to continue on and forge her own path without the expectations and baggage from her father's death overshadowing her.

It’s one of those situations where when I heard the news my first thought was “Surely not Ken, that doesn’t seem right”
Very sad.

It’s not the money i was referring too, they will write that off no issue, but rather the money and effort involved in getting him to switch to audi, and then not long after having this tragic accident. They would be incredibly disappointed they didn’t get much of a chance to work with him. He maybe only did the one gymkhana with audi?

Shocking news. But I am surprised to see the media call him a motorsport legend. He produced entertaining videos using cars but his racing results were nothing special.
