I was just watching "Top Gear" on SBS, it's a car show beamed from the BBC.
My ears pricked up when they said they were going to race a Fiesta ST Vs. a Citroen C2. Not really much to say, the C2 was owned on every aspect of the race. The ST took the chequered flag with over 5 seconds lead... |

Apart from the standing start there didn't appear to be much in it to me?

Great video. Had seen it a while ago when I still owned the Fiesta. Was good watching how well the Fiesta handled... very stable

Probably not given they've got a two litre engine up front?

The ST suspension is the same as all fiestas but it has different springs and slightly harder dampers. Its not a major hassle to get your car handling like an ST (or better).
Although getting the different steering ratio is another matter.

I remember that episode. My friend at work came up to me saying, "I saw your car on the telly! It's so cool! It frickin' GOES!" Fortunately she has a DVD recorder and she burned me a copy. It always warms my heart when I watch that clip.
There was a repeat of that episode on SBS yesterday too. How tall is Jeremy Clarkson? How he managed to fit into the ST (with a helmet and all) I'll never know. |
