So if you get your roof fitted by Prestige - you're getting the best possible job and it would almost be considered considered "factory" if it was done by them pre delivery.... get the dealer to put it on the delivery sheet that it was fitted and delivered to you that way. Next closest thing to "factory fitted" I had mine done that way in my BFGT. The car was already built and on the floor , but I wanted a sunroof, so they trucked it down to Prestige and had it fitted pre delivery and listed it on the delivery sheet for me. |

McGrath's emailed me the contract today for the XR8.
$60 195 drive away. Thought it may come in just under 60 gorillas, but not to bad considering some of the pricing being mentioned on the forums. Just a matter of waiting for delivery now. - - - Is it time yet?

What options did you tick for that price?

Dealer delivery should be between $1500 & $2500. Auto should be $60,000 d/a and manual $57,800 d/a. |

My dealer is on leave today, and the Sales Manager hasn't called me back almost 5 hours later. I have no idea if I got my allocation, the overall price, or anything. Starting to get really p****d off with these guys. But if I don't go with them, I'll lose my spot and have to scratch around somewhere else. Threats to go elsewhere in the past were met with indifference. They've been nice to me, but it's the small stuff like not getting back to you in a timely fashion that is bugging the hell out of me.

Signed contract on mine today. White manual, with tow bar, tint and mats 58k driveway. I specifically asked for a 2015 build date so delivery has been estimated at late January early Feb. Sydney dealer.
Just have to sell my FG XR8 in the meantime. Any takers? |

Dealer now does not recall asking me if he called around and found a Smoke Auto, would I place a deposit. I said that I would, got the call 10 minutes later, and up until recently, thought I had a Smoke Auto. If he couldn't secure me one, why tell me that he had? Now the story is that he got approval to take the order, and that I may get the second allocation. Also suggested that I call around elsewhere to find one if I wanted to, and that there was plenty of stock around. When they only got 2 in their allocation, and with the interest I've seen, I doubt there is plenty of stock.
I honestly cannot believe that I have $60K in my pocket and have to fight for them to take it. There was no sale involved, no cajoling, just a guy saying, "I'll take one". Far out.

I've got the feelers out now for a first allocation, but I guess I'll take a second too. Not sure if I want them to have my money after this. Hard to find a dealer who cares.

My dealer wasn't interested in taking a deposit as yet! They have had no interest in the XR8 and their first allocation car is still not sold! Don't want a auto in victory gold! I read with interest some of the suspected delivery times my dealer doesn't expect there first XR8 until late January/early February. There is allot of popularity shown on social media about the new XR8's but other than you guys who have placed orders will the rest of this interest revert to actuall sales? Man I have wanted allot of things in the past and shown allot of interest in them and guess what I still don't have them for one reason or the other. Allot of people say they want them but will they buy them? I have to admit that I'm a little nervous to secure a car especially now I have put my FG F6 up for sale/interest don't want to end up with no toy if I sell and can't secure a manual XR8.

Will depend where the production schedule they are. I know of some that are for Dec delivery and some that are for February delivery. All are from first allocation. If you want an auto then you should be able to find one in the first allocation if you are prepared to look around. Manuals are a bit scarcer. However if you put an order in there should be little issues with second allocation. The problem is the wait. But for the last XR8 is that really an issue?

For those who reckon you can't get an XR8, enquire and you'll find they are still out there. 4 dealers have stock, and 2 were happy to change the colour (not sure why the original mob wouldn't do that for me). Auto, mats, tinting and tank of juice for $60,050.
Not really doing me any favours, but not trying to rip me off blindly either.

Has it been ordered under an XR8 model code? My dealer telling me only orders takin have been under an FPV model code as they don't have the XR8 codes to process an order correctly yet. They said they expecting them any day but yeah as I'm not wanting one till early next year I havnt pushed the issue.
Was quoted 58k black manual with floor mats. |

Deposit put down on Saturday for a manual in Kinetic @ $59,400 drive-away.
The contract was only placeholder stuff as they couldn't create a proper contract on the system yet. March/April delivery - apparently tail end of the first production run. Apparently securing mine involved a stock swap for an order that had been cancelled. I visited/called about 4 different Melbourne dealers - all had the same story. Only about 3 cars per dealer allocated, pretty much all of them sold right away. A couple weren't taking deposits for the second production run yet (Feb/March through to August was consistently what I was told for second run), some were taking deposits but said they had no visibility of stock allocation in that period yet.

Should be free. Its needed to fit over the brembo brakes.
Just checked fords website. In the spec sheet is noted as standard. On the build and quote it is listed as a $250 option. I would check that you haven't paid extra for it, its a mandatory part.

Went to my local dealer over hear in W.A yesterday with a genuine interest in the XR8 and gee, I know where a little behind the times over here but he had no information on them.
All was told was that the price will be between 50-60k, only a limited number will be built (1500), they have been taking deposits for them and the minimum deposit they require is 2k. They have 2 coming supposably around mid November. One for sale, one for display. I thought ford had given the dealers all the info on these vehicles, pricing etc? Must still be deciphering the Morse code over here lol. |

Black, Auto, Base price $54,490 Delivery Charges $2195 Includes GST & WA luxury Tax Plus stamp duty $3424 and Licence fee 12 months $800 Total $60909 full of fuel. I believe WA has the highest car luxury tax of all the states. I only had to put down a $500 deposit subject to satisfactory Test Drive. No discussion of mats - but I'll bring that up later. I didn't realize mats would be an extra. I haven't bought a new car for many a year. Other offers: HD tow bar with ECU mods $1990 X Pack including tint $2190 Extended warranty 4, 5 & 6 year ranging from ~ $1100 to $1800 from memory. Stripe kits - no details or pricing available yet. They will have a demo car in ~ 24th November. The cars officially go on sale December 1st. When will mine be ready? No idea. Probably just sooner than yours if you haven't ordered one yet - lol! I was also told they will be building 2000, based on engine availability. But we all know how that works. |
